Close to the zocalo. Several restaurants and shops nearby. Spacious and clean rooms. Friendly staff! Bed was hard. I prefer a soft mattress.

The only thing I would adjust is I did a couple of virtual meetings from my room and I had to adjust how I was sitting for lighting. But a very small detail and I'd definitely stay there again

The restaurant opens until 8am so we had to go out for breakfast to be ready before going on the tours, but not a big deal, there are good restaurants close that opens around 6 am.

I didn't like the loud noise, apparently there is a night club next to the hotel and the music was loud until 4am. I asked to be moved to a different room but was told they couldn't. The beds were not that comfortable although the room was clean and spacious, the pillows are not the best.. If you have a car, the parking lot is 100 pesos per night and 3 blocks away from the hotel.

Location was great Parking was far from the property

The location is very quiet and calm. Had hot water at all time, there room coffee is very good, the hotel is align with a travel group that will pick you up at the hotel and drop you off also. Very convenient. Their bed is a bit hard. They’re linens aren’t the most comfortable. Had a bit trouble with some ants. Not a big deal.

Amazing location, clean and very helpful stuff!
-
The rooms we got were on the first floor so no view, only laundry room and maintenance room. The maintenance people were loud and washing machines didn’t let us sleep in after a long day of touring. Avoid rooms 10 & 11 otherwise you won’t sleep if you’re a light sleeper.

Great location! Walking distance to anything and everything you can think of. Very convenient and clean!

The property was very accessible! I loved that it was so close to all the little markets. The rooms we were given I assume were next to utility closets because it was constant noise of water and machines as well as, staff chitchatting at various times! We weren’t able to sleep in on any of the 3 days because they would do their daily chitchat right outside our room door! Mind you we reserved two rooms and we both had the same issue! So if possible, stay away from rooms 10&11.

They were very friendly and helped us with several of the tours during our stay and the taxi to airport on the check-out day. Some rooms can be very noisy. Some bars in the nearby play super loud music until very late, even until early morning.

Location. Great concierge Rebecca Poor WiFi. Bare bones room
-
Rooms were spacious Staff’s attitude was terrible, it was a younger girl. Also the noise at night does not let you sleep at all
-
Couldn't sleep because of the loud music from the club or bar across the street
-
It is an old building and like it should be in the area but it could be better taken care of The bed mattress was very hard And the furniture is old and NOT maintained at all NO electrical connections near the beds for your phone had to use the bathroom electrical connection to charge our phones
-
Hotel is very walkable to Zocalo , Mercado 20 de Noviembre & Santo Domingo church. Bathroom are pretty run down , water pressure is good & it always has Cold & hot water
-
This hotel is located near the Zócalo in downtown, which is its main advantage. The parking lot is three blocks away.

My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Aurora in Oaxaca, and overall, our experience was quite positive. The staff was friendly and genuinely helpful, welcoming us throughout urour visit. We greatly appreciated their willingness to assist with recommendations and local insights. Our spacious and clean room provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring the city. While the decor was aesthetically pleasing, I believe a few updates could further enhance the ambiance. The hotel's environment was lovely, with a tranquil restaurant area contributing to a relaxing atmosphere. Its location is ideal for immersing oneself in Oaxaca's vibrant culture and attractions. We highly recommend the churros across the street from the hotel and the atole de chocolate that a street food vendor sells at night around the corner. In conclusion, our stay at Hotel Aurora was enjoyable, and we recommend it to travelers seeking a pleasant experience in Oaxaca for a reasonable price. The room decor was outdated, but that was not a deal breaker. Although it might be a bit dated, it’s still charming and manageable!
