Castle in the Sand

Highly recommend Castles in the Sand!! My family stays here every time we visit O.C

Had a 3 day stay in the middle of the week. Everything was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. Well maintained but could use some updating. The location is great and has easy beach access.

The only problem with the hotel was the smell of sour milk in someone’s trash. You could see the beach from our window, which was beautiful.

Clean property. Friendly staff. Convenient location.

Overall my main issue would be cleanliness. Every day there was a garbage lake kept 3 feet from the elevator on the 5th floor and it made it smell terrible. I understand it maybe happening once or twice while housekeeping is doing there job but for every time we go to use the elevator for it to be the smell of rancid hot garbage is unfair to guests. Also the bathroom itself had smeared toothpaste on the wall which is not pleasant especially when you just walk into the room. Overall the room was dated and not super clean, the only real pro would be the accessibility to the beach.

A minor downside: the room cleaning could have been better.

Castle in the Sand is in need of an overhaul renovation. The rooms have not been updated in over 40+ years and the ice machine did not work. The redeeming qualities were the beach amenities, having the wait staff at the pool and Coconuts Bar and Grill. The room was clean, but the bathroom door did not close because of the humidity. The hallway door was also tough to close and stay shut. To stay there was in a pinch, affordable but never in the off season. The office did provide a complimentary bag of ice upon ask and the staff were kind. Coconuts was the highlight for sure.

Loved the walk out suite right on the sand! It was so convenient to get to the beach, pool, and bar! Having a full kitchen was also really nice! We really love this hotel and can't wait to return!

Excellent location, friendly & helpful staff. Food at Coconuts was average but alcohol very good. We got a non smoking room b/c we are non smokers. However, the property allows cigarette smoking on patios & decks, at Coconuts & other areas, including their private beach. Booking did not disclose this anywhere that I could discover. We almost left a 2 days earlier. We won’t be back. Smoking, smoking everywhere.

The location was fantastic! No hooks for towels in the bathroom so both shower and beach towels were placed around the room. Ice machine did not work on the 2nd floor and the garbage cans, for cleaning staff, were left in the hallways at all times.

I am enjoy the stay everything was very good , location perfect , kids activities for little ones. Definitely I will comeback.

A fun location in Ocean City! Hotel is very well maintained and clean. Coconuts Bar and Grill on the premises is awesome.

Been here multiples times , always a nice trip. Things are clean and staff is always helpful .
