Breakfast was excellent, served directly in our private courtyard. Staff was pleasant and accommodating! Location had a PERFECT view and ideal location for photo shoot. Checked in early and the manager informed us about the place, restaurants and confirmed local attractions we had planned. The standup shower had no curtain to prevent water from going on the floor, but tub shower became the backup.

There isn’t a private balcony, which should be advertised more clearly. Also, the host and maid both had attitudes when speaking with us which dampened the experience.

Amazing location
-
Loved everything about this property! Location was fantastic, the space is beautiful and spacious enough for 4 people, the breakfast is delicious, they were so helpful with our bags Everything was perfect
-
Dimitra, the Hostess was amazing with coordinating our stay, sunset cruise, communicating with transfer company for moving around island. The staff was awesome as well: house keeping, breakfast and bag porter to/from location NOT PROPERTYS FAULT: Because of the location of Sea Captain relative to the blue domes, there were a lot of cruise ship tourists camped out on our path to/from property top take photos

Nothing really. Wifi is not the best but this could be island issues not the hotel

Excellent breakfast. Worked around our schedule

From the moment we arrived in Oia, everything was taken care of with such care and professionalism. Transportation was arranged for us ahead of time, and when we got there, the luggage porter met us and carried our two huge suitcases through the charming Oia alleyways. When he reached the steps, he lifted one on his shoulder and carried the other by hand — truly impressive! As soon as we reached the entrance, our wonderful host Takis came out to greet us with the warmest welcome. He gave us a little introduction to the Captain’s House, and I was already completely enchanted. The view took my breath away — I almost cried tears of joy! The house is perfectly located in the heart of Oia, with the most iconic and picturesque view right outside the door. The house itself feels like stepping back in time. You can really sense its history and charm, beautifully preserved since 1864. Staying there felt nostalgic and magical — like living in a piece of Oia’s story. We were there to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more memorable. Every morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast spread, lovingly prepared and beautifully presented. It reminded me of something from my grandmother’s time — homemade, generous, and full of heart. The location was simply unbeatable. Everything was just steps away, yet the atmosphere remained peaceful and private. The view outside our room was beyond stunning — the kind of view that stays in your memory forever. When it was time to leave, I accidentally left my glasses behind. Takis went above and beyond to arrange for a courier to check if they could be delivered to me. That level of kindness and attention to detail says everything about the hospitality here. In short — don’t think twice. 1864 The Sea Captain’s House is the perfect place to stay! Nothing

Everything about my stay was exceptional! The location was perfect, the room was lovely, the view was stunning, and the morning breakfast was delicious. Mr. Aki truly stood out. He was the best! He arranged for a porter to assist with my luggage upon arrival and departure, which was a lifesaver, as I wouldn't have managed my suitcase on my own. Mr. Aki communicated with guests regularly, offering assistance and providing excellent recommendations for everything. The room was clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. Overall, I believe this is the best place to stay in Santorini, and I'm already planning my return! N/A

The property was beautiful! Great location and thoughtfully designed.

TAKI, our host was excellent! From arranging pick up at the airport to a porter meeting us to bring our luggage directly to the Captain’s house. Breakfast was such a pleasure to have right outside outdoor and the staff was super friendly and very very accommodating. They even made pancakes for our daughter. The only issue is the shower. We didn’t stay many nights but we were afraid to take a shower since there was no shower curtain or shower glass door. In hindsight, we should have asked the host if it was ok.

Great location and the room was good for our family of four. Nothing. Everything was excellent!
-
Good location. Helpful staff. Amazing breakfast. Bathroom design is kinda strange. No shower curtain installed.
-
Very central location in Oia. Amazing breakfast One of the main spots where tourists take pictures is right outside the room, but it well separated with a wall and you don’t hear any sound inside

The corner where you enter the 1864 The Sea Captain’s House is literally where everybody goes to take pictures, however it has a door that gives you a private enjoyment of the place. You can’t get a better view to the Caldera. We booked the Venetian room that has a balcony with a beautiful view. If you want to have an unobstructed sight and a bigger space to enjoy, better book the Sailing room, it’s worth the extra amount to be paid. Takis helped us with every small question we had. Gave us very good food recommendations and how to move in the island. Thank you for a wonderful stay in such a demanding place. A little inconvenience with the bath tub/ shower. But nothing that limited the enjoyment. Although a bit challenging for someone that has mobility problems.

The terrace area was a bit small for this room

Fabulous location. Beautiful apartment. Super hosts. Comfy beds. Breakfast was out of this world delicious, and served to us on our private patio! Long lines of tourists in front of our apartment trying to take selfies, which is not the fault of the hotel, but a byproduct of being in the best location for viewing the blue roofs!

Nothing.
-
Lovely BnB with a great view and service! Takis and his team are very thoughtful and helpful hosts. The BnB is very well located

Fantastic location and very courteous staff Since right next to the famous dome, sometimes privacy can be an issue as people take photos from the balcony
