Hampton Inn & Suites Orlando-John Young Pkwy/S. Park

This is the first negative review I’ve ever posted, but I don’t want others to experience the frustrations I had at this hotel. The hair dryer didn’t work, and I had to contact the front desk three separate times before maintenance finally replaced it. The pool was filled with debris and was never cleaned during my entire five-day stay. The worst issue was the shower nozzle. Once the shower was turned on, it would slowly move on its own and become extremely hot, requiring me to reposition it every 20–30 seconds to avoid being burned. I stay at Hilton properties often and have never experienced this many issues at one location.

I was very unimpressed with this location. Upon arrival there was no one at the desk. I stood there for several minutes waiting to check in. Once in the room, there was hair on the pillow, I informed the front desk, was advised that housekeepers were not on site and there was an hour wait. After an hour and 20 minutes went by, no one had shown up. I contacted the front desk again and was told that they let housekeeping know I needed service that day as if I was requesting a regular cleaning and not encountering an issue that needed urgent attention. On the way out we saw roaches in the elevator. Definitely not a good experience

Adequate facilities

Check-in staff was very quick and helpful. The property was clean and presentable. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was basic, but good. Overall, great stay and would stay again.
