Fuori le Mura

Nothing but praise for this beautiful B&B — from the location to the building and grounds to the family that owns and runs it. Rooms are modern and clean, well decorated (the art is especially nice), parking is included on site and you’re an easy walk to the Paestum temples and town. (The walk seems concerning at first as you’ll need to cross a busier street, but it really is quite easy to navigate, even at night. Plus, you’re walking along the ancient Roman walls, in a living museum.) Even though you are close to the site and town, you are surrounded by peace and quiet at the property, not to mention the natural beauty: from the visually stunning olive tree right outside your room to the glorious jasmine fragrance that greets you as you walk the driveway to enter and exit the property. Arriving by train is also convenient, as other guests during our stay arrived by train from Rome and said it was a breeze! Breakfast is an experience: a delicious, abundant taste of regional offerings both sweet and savory, lovingly prepared and presented by the matriarch of the family, Titti, whose kind, welcoming spirit wraps you in warmth. The property and grounds are under the care of her son, Davide, who is continuing a family farming enterprise, while also supporting area producers to present a “zero kilometer” experience. Davide is a very special, warm, kind human and if you get a chance to spend a few minutes with him, do it. By the way, if it’s important to you, his English is perfect. The natural beauty of this place is spectacular, the Temples are spectacular, however, it is all outshined by the warmth and hospitality of Titti and Davide. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here if you’re considering visiting Paestum and please stay for more than one night to really explore the area but also to get a few days of relaxation at this beautiful property. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. There is nothing that could have been better! It was perfect....

The hospitality was fantastic. Davide provided me with excellent recommendations. Breakfast was great. It is a lovely place! I was traveling without a car and it was a little tricky. If you are traveling with a car, it will be perfect!

Food was wonderful, great location and great hospitality!

We had an amazing stay here! It was only for a night, but we wished we'd stayed longer! Davide and his mom were truly amazing, warm and welcoming. We arrived with colds, and after asking Davide for recommendations to take out food, he offered to go and get take out pizza for us. He arrived with the pizza, plates, forks and napkins. He truly went above and beyond! The next morning, we were treated to a wonderful breakfast made homemade by his Mom. We felt so taken care of, and it was so nice after a rough start to our time in Italy and being sick. 1000% recommend this B&B if you want an authentic Italian experience with a wonderful family! Nothing! It was perfect. ?

The feeling of being in a country home with home cooking and very friendly host! Davies n his mom have prepared a very cozy , clean ,country environment that makes you feel welcome! We only wished we would have stayed longer! We liked everything!

The property was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. Davide and his family were so incredibly generous, kind and helpful. The farm to table breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had.

We had a delightful stay with Davide and his mother. Davide was a great host and met us at the train station and brought us to their place. He also dropped us at a restaurant as it was dark when we arrived! Fuori le Mura is on a farm with a road lined with olives, pomegranites and other beautiful trees. We had pomegranites for breakfast from their trees. Davide's mother cooked a delicious fresh breakfast (the best we have had in Italy)and we easily walked to the ruins. Mamma some some english and with our very weak Italian we were able to have a lively conversation. The ruins were much bigger than we expected and being able to actually walk into one of the oldest continually standing temples in Italy was really special. We will remember our time in Paestum very fondly and out stay in Fuori le Mura was very special. (by the way, you walk by some of a ancient Roman wall in the way to the ruins).

Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was so good, I had their home cooked dinner there both nights of my stay! They were able to accommodate my vegetarian/pescatarian diet with delicious food. It was especially nice that David spoke excellent English. He and his mother were so very accommodating in every way. I highly recommend Fuori le Mura!

The bed is too soft

Davide is a excellent host and his mother is a breakfast genius! We only have one regret... that we only had one night to spend at the property. Davide welcomed us with open arms at his beautiful property set immediately beside the Paestum historical site. The location was very easy to find and is set in the middle of a large agricultural property with pomegranate and other produce being grown all around. The room was one of 4 within a peaceful courtyard with a central olive tree. Ample safe and private parking is provided on site. The room is well equipped and quite large. the front door is nestled under a veranda to ward from passing showers. The historical site is so close, we would walk to it! The area is very quiet and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was a veritable feast! Davide's mother prepared fresh local cake, a plate of ricotta cheese with the juiciest tomatoes and a few leaves of oregano, croissant with jam and buffalo butter, tea, coffee, juice! WOW! That we did not stay long enough! next time we will!

Great location.

This place blew our mind away with all its idyllic landscape of the fresh pomegranates, vegetables field and walking distance to the Greek ruins. Above all the neat room and facilities, David and his mom cooked us a divine dinner with her passion and freshest mozzarella and eggplants from her garden! David is super nice to offer us ride to the buffalo farm….It’s a hidden gem you should not miss. Nothing

Delightful property among olive and pomegranate trees. Beautiful setting. David was extremely helpful as we arrived and as we asked questions about exploring. Rooms clean and comfortable. Quiet setting. Moma’s breakfast was to die for!!! Prepared with love and served with a smile. Fresh cannolis anyone? Wished we had stayed more than one night.
