Balarm Hostel

The space of the rooms, the location, the showers with extra space for dressing up, the big clothes cabinet. The lockers outside the room, some furniture needs renovation, no coffe/drinks for included breakfast, some members of the staff could be a tiny bit friendlier.

Position. Nothing more than that! Not clean at all. In the mix dorm there were bed bugs (Cimex lectularius) on the walls and beds (I've got photos and videos). One German guy checked out at around midnight. Of course the hostel didn't help him to find a new place to stay. Staff not friendly and could barely speak Italian (Palermo is in Italy). Staff was well instructed by the owner to overcome this problem doing nothing. The stuff just said, this is the number of the owner if you wanna call him. Unbelievable! I would avoid this place like the plague. Hope I will get refund

Very well located - near to the station (5 mins walk) and then another 5 mins to the main sites in the centre of Palermo. A large Lidl is 2 mins away. In fairly good condition for the city and attentive staff. Late checkin available at a fee. Plenty of lockers in and out of the room. It’s pretty good overall. No towel included - a further payment. Showers fine, toilets average.

The best thing about the Hostel is the location, close to the train station and the personal, they were really nice and yhey clean at leats twice at day The place look like it needs some renew. The lockers were difficult to close because the doors kept coming off and the rings for using a padlock often jammed the door. The hot water boiler is above a toilet and it leaks, so you can't use that one. In fact, all the toilet bowls were loose (yes, I'm one of those who have to sit down xD) The main door is narrow, the kitchen had lack of glasses,...these are small things that I can really overlook to a certain extent, but my companion, being his first time in a hostel, found them negative. Even so, I would definitely come back, but because I'm not very demanding :)

Staff members are all cute, welcoming and friendly, everything is so tidy. Definitely recommend for budget travelers.

The location: 5 minutes from the train/bus station. 100 meters from Lidl. The crew was nice, not exceedingly polite, but just nice and that is okay. I really don’t get all the feedback from people who booked a BED in a dorm and after that they’re complaining it was a shared room. I knew how’s going to look like (more or less). No surprise. It’s a quite big property with a lot of rooms/corridors. The facilities are old and in a quite bad condition. The beds in room don’t have curtains, so forget privacy.

The location is good specially if you need to get to the airport with the bus . Also near a very bubbly zone of the city .in addition must say that the Argentinian receptionist was amazing, actually she was the best part of my time there . She really went an extra mil Didn’t like the price of drinking water at the hostel “pub” -an annoying exploration of your guess
