Hotel de France Gare de Lyon Bastille

Location Our room and ensuite was exceptional Very comfortable bed. Ensuite spacious and well equipped. Refurbished only 4 years ago the decor was very much in our taste Location was good. Staff were helpful. Storage facility was secure enabling walk around le Marais. Air conitioning was invaluable. Altthough the breakfast was adequate, the continental option could have been more extensive.

It was a great location, close to Gare de Lyon, the metro and some very nice restaurants. Could use some more hooks in the bathroom.

I would especially like to express my gratitude to one specific staff member. On the night of May 27th leading into May 28th, the fire alarm went off in the hotel, which understandably made us quite anxious. The gentleman working at the reception that night was exceptionally kind; he told us we could sit in the lobby for as long as we liked and even offered us coffee. It was a truly thoughtful gesture, and we were deeply grateful for it. I absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone. You can choose to stay here with complete peace of mind. The only bad thing about this hotel is that your reservation eventually comes to an end :))" Nothing :))

We craved some indian food when we got there at 10PM-ish and it turned out there was an indian spot just 80m away and it was great (totally unexpected). Overall the stay was great - the staff lovely and the room was clean and tidy. If I ever need something close to Gare de Lyon - I'll be picking this place again. The room could have been 3-4 sq. meters bigger, but that's okay. :)

Nice location near good restaurants and cafes. The hotel ran out of toilet paper on the second or third day of our stay. We called down to reception and were told there was none available and that other rooms had the same complaint. By the evening of the next day it was sorted but it seems crazy for a hotel to run out of such a basic necessity and not rectify it immediately.

The room did not match the description on Booking.com. The windows were opaque with no real view, creating a claustrophobic environment. Even the alternative room offered had the same issue. I left the hotel immediately. Despite not staying, I was charged for the full week and the hotel refused to refund, even though the room conditions were not as described. Staff were polite, but the listing needs urgent correction to avoid misleading future guests.

I stayed here because I needed to be near Gare de Lyon. It is reasonably comfortable, and very basic. There is plenty of everything nearby. Minor maintenance issues.

The guy at the front desk was always very nice! It was very clean, and a great convenience location for me personally. I did see some reviews about the shower situation and I’m usually not one to care about it but it was built very weirdly and the water got all over the floor. But it’s not due to being worn down or broken, the hotel is very modern and new!

Great value for money for traveling with a little one, seeking an overnight stay with a parent bed and child bed. Mission accomplished! Well designed room. Small, but we don’t care for a quick stay. The breakfast isn’t exceptional, but there are lots of options around.

well decorated, cosy, comfortable, bright, clean room! The bed was super comfortable and the pillows too. No noises even though window facing the street. Despite small size there was space for everything in the cupboard. Breakfast facilities. We went somewhere else. Rainshower needs descaling. We had to leave a deposit of 100 Euros.

The room is a little bit spacious compared to the one we stayed the first time. Bathroom is good. And i like how they don’t use plastics. Helping environment. We didn’t know that there was a deposit of 100 euro. We didn’t have a choice but to pay. They said by check out it will be cancelled and will get the full refund but till now there was no refund in my account.

Rooms are extremely small

Although the room was comfortable, street noise was bothersome at night.

The breakfast area is very small. There's many great alternatives for breakfast, so I went elsewhere.
