Cozy and clean kindness of staff

The location was the only thing good about this place Okay. Let me begin with the fact I am a very easygoing person and that it takes a lot for me to go out of my way to write a negative review. My husband and I have traveled to over 25 different countries and stayed in anything ranging from villas to hostels so we understood that the expectation of this place was a mid level stay. However ranking this hotel as “very good” or an 8 is a complete lie. To begin: they do not list on booking.com clearly that there is NOT an elevator nor do they tell you what floor your room will be on. I have screenshots to prove this. It’s not listed on the facilities page, important im formation page, nor the about section page. Basically anywhere a person will want to look to learn the hotel it’s not listed. Frankly it feels intentional because if I had m ow they would have put me and my elderly step mother with ankle replacements ON THE SIXTH FLOOR with no elevator I would never have booked. Also, I read the featured reviews and none of them mentioned this lack of elevator. I was only after i booked as the checkin date neared that more recent reviews has been posted mentioning the issue of the stairs - once I see this I reach out very politely expressing my concerns. I was met with negative messages and blame and told they would not move my room. When i asked for assistance with luggage up the stairs they made it clear they would not help me only her. Continuing on through the trip, the Paris heat wave hit and we also come to find there is no AC. They do nothing when I reach out and express my Concerns about this either. It was an absolute oven in our room and we had to take cold showers and drape wet towels over us just to be able to get cool enough to sleep. When the weekend came, they did not clean the room or replace towels at all. We had to ask almost daily for more towels. So all in all the experience with the staff was terrible.

I stayed in the attic - the room with a view of Notre Dame's towers. It's a large room but you have to watch your head. I was there during the heat wave. The room did not overheat, by surprise. There is no air conditioning. Staff was helpful in my air check-in and getting a taxi to the airport. The proximity to the cathedral (and lots of restaurants) was a great gift. I'm glad of that. I loved seeing the towers from my window. This is an old building with no elevator. Hence, 81 steps to my room. The shower/bathtub area has water damage and the tub is extremely slippery. It needs a mat. Their information in the room says that breakfast is served at 8:30. It's not - it's at 9:00. It also says that the reception is always open. Unfortunately, I arrived on an afternoon when it was not. In maneuvering an entry hallway, two young ladies who helped me with my luggage also pickpocketed me for several hundred dollars. The staff mentioned cameras, but they did not make a police report. Perhaps because I was on the top floor, there was no connection to Wifi, either with my computer or my phone. I don't think there was a connection on the ground floor either. (I had no problem at my two other hotels.)

It has a decent location for a tourist, across the Seine from Notre-Dame The listing promises location, comfort, convenience, in-room safe, WiFi, breakfast. The hotel is only staffed by transient college students from 8:30 or 9 am until 2:30 or so in the afternoon. So there is no breakfast unless you can wait until 9 or 9:30 when these people can get around to getting there, opening up and fixing it. And when they aren't there, you access the hotel through a back door with a key pad and a door that doesn't reliably close so anyone can walk in. There is no air conditioning and no fan in the room, the in-room safe is broken and the facility is dirty and in poor repair. And while the building may be "historic", the staircase up to the rooms is slippery, curving and poorly lit, making it dangerous to carry luggage up and down. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY ENEMY>

The very narrow stairs were a bit difficult for me, but the staff carried my cases up and down so that was very helpful. Lovely people!

Location was EXCELLENT! I love that it's right near the RER B. Reception was very kind and helpful. The room was very comfortable. I would absolutely stay again! The walls are a bit thin and I could hear other guests in the hallways late at night.

Location was great. Near Notre Dame and a lot more. No elevator so lugging suitcases up 3 floors or even walking up 3 floors was not good. Reception closes at 7:00 pm, so after that you are on your own.

Location was fantastic! The bathroom clearly has mold issues. Anyone who is sensitive to mold should probably avoid this hotel.

LOCATION. Around the right corner Notre-Dame. Around left corner Farmers Market and two best pastries located there with sandwiches and besides it a coffee shop to enjoy my chocolate croissant. Waiter knew my order already of one coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Staff were was soooo helpful and friendly. Can hear Notre-Dame church bells and see the tower from my room. Great value for your money. For me and my husband it’s no problem but if you have heavy suitcases and reside on the top floor room, might need someone to help.

The location was excellent. The room was delightful. The Internet didn’t work There was no air conditioning and we had record heat in Paris. There was a fan and we left windows open at night which helped. It was a four story walk up; no elevator. It was challenging to carry suitcases up.

Authentic, vintage, unique. If you prefer scandic, hilton, radisson etc, this is not for you

Customer Service was very nice. Too far from all major sightseeing and taxis are very, very expensive.

The charm and history of this hotel. We stayed there 22 years ago. The location on the Left Bank across from Notre Dame. The ico is neighborhood. The staff made us very welcome and insisted on carrying our suitcases upstairs. It's a historic property with elevators.

That location of the hotel was excellent! Right at the edge of the Latin Quarter. Everything was within walking distance, restaurants, shops, the Seine, and points of interest. It was quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was exceptional, so kind, welcoming, and went out of their way to be helpful. I can’t say enough good things about them! The room was very “tired” and in serious need of some TLC. The furniture was very worn. The curtains did not close well enough to keep the building’s exterior light shining through the edges, which made sleep difficult. The bathroom was on the edge of being shabby, as the tiles in the shower were coming away from the wall. Toilet seat was not the right fit, so every time you sat down it would shift to the side. It is a shame the owner does not take better pride in caring for this property, it could be such a little gem! My husband and I have spent many years traveling around Cuba and are quite tolerant of the standards there, I expect a much higher standards in Paris.

No elevator and XVII century narrow stairs (quaint but not very handy)

Location is across Seine from Notre Dame -Absolutely amazing location! We could see bell tower from our room. This hotel is centuries old. It has a very medieval charm and without one modern convenience - an elevator. It is an absolutely wonderful hotel and my wife and I would not have changed a thing! That said, we were on the fifth floor. We are comfortable walking up stairs, but other folks may not be - just be aware that the magnificent view of Notre Dame means climbing five flights of stairs. Additionally, people in centuries past were shorter than today. Our room has a lower ceiling with wonderful, exposed beams that will bite someone 5’9” or taller on way to bathroom in middle of night. We knew that when we booked hotel, hotel website photographs are very clear. Bonking your head once will teach you to duck - we loved this hotel and 100% recommend it to anyone who loves history and Paris. MAGNIFICENT!!!

It’s close to the Metro, restaurants, across Notre Dame Basilica. My room was clean, small but enough space for not loosing my travelling things The office is not open 24 hours, hard to get access to information from them
