I didn’t like how high the beds were, as they were uncomfortable to climb in and out of. The bathroom had a very unpleasant sewage smell, which made it difficult to spend any time in there. The room also got very hot at times. As for breakfast, I felt it could be improved. The food was tasty, but there weren’t many options, and the XL breakfast was quite expensive for what was offered. It felt more like a snack than a full breakfast. I know this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I think it would be helpful to remind guests staying in shared rooms to be considerate when returning late at night and to keep the noise down, so everyone can rest.

Wonderful people, great service, great location, easy access to food and grocery, and transportation.

No cuenta con productos de limpieza personal en la ducha, algo básico

unhygenic toilets. they charged me extra 5 euro for city tax and 15 euro for late check-out.

If you can get past the fact that it’s a hostel, it offers great value and has a very nice youth and ambient vibe, especially in the bar and work space when you walk in. You get a sense of safety as its doors are closed in the night, and around the hostel there are plenty of good bars, restaurants and supermarkets for your daily needs. There is a metro station (couronnes) just a minutes walk down from the place. In terms of the accommodation, the beds were quite comfortable, storage for bags was ample, and the AC wasn’t too loud although I recommend earplugs for the noise in the streets. The shared bathrooms aren’t too bad, but bring or buy shower amenities and expect to have to wait to use them during busy times as there is only one toilet per bathroom. Overall a very pleasant stay at the people belleville.

Nice building and comfortable beds, there is a cool lobby with bar where people can hang out, chill or meet other travelers. The place is very well communicated for public transport

I liked the beds and how private they are. There was SO MUCH mold in the showers!! So so disgusting. I know there are cleaners that come in everyday to switch the bedding, however they need to spend more time cleaning the bathrooms. The room was also very warm, even though the thermostat was at the lowest and coldest setting.

I had a great stay! The bedroom was very clean. I particularly appreciated the lockers inside the room, which were very helpful for keeping my belongings secure. The shower area was also very practical and easy to use.

Beds were really comfortable Rooms were really small, occasionally dirty and the location is not the safest

I love their terrace, and their community activities and back patio. I thought it was a bit muggy when I got there but maybe it’s just personal preference, I made it a point to open the window and ventilate the room when I was there by myself.

Mattress was cheap and soft with an indentation in the middle. The private rooms are advertised as a “boutique hotel” experience, but the mattress was more like standard hostel quality—for the price, they should get better mattresses for the private rooms.

Even though I could see cleaning staff really cleaning the bathrooms each morning, they smelled awful. I have no idea why. The breakfast is kinda limited compared to other hostels I’ve been to.

It was cozy, lots of parties and bands at night downstairs. The bathroom always smelled bad

From the lively first floor area all the way to the stunning rooftop view of the Parisian city, I loved my "The People" experience. Everyone on staff was hardworking and ready to answer any questions, especially the group that changed the bedding and made sure rooms were spotless each morning . The location is difficult to beat and is rich in culture, great restaurants, and countless activities. Grateful that places like this exist and would be honored to be back in the future! Bathrooms were clean but could have smelled a little better.

Very well connected with metro and bus nearby, plus tons of good restaurants around. Keep in mind it is not in the touristy area of Paris, it’s about 15-20 min from some of the touristy areas. I stayed in an 8-bed dorm and got lucky with quiet, chill roommates, which made resting easy. Beds and pillows are very comfortable, rooms are nice and well ventilated. The bar/restaurant downstairs is super convenient and always has something going on, with a great atmosphere: Jazz nights, Live music, DJs, you name it. Staff is very friendly despite how busy it gets. Definitely recommend for a great budget stay in Paris and if your goal is to explore the city There’s only one toilet per floor but it was never an issue

Staffs are willing to help and friendly. The upper bed is too difficult to climb up and it’s also dangerous. Somebody in my room smells bad.

Fun clean/ place to stay with a great location.

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

The neighborhood is sketchy and there’s nothing that the hostel can do about that…

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

Location was great. Close to two metro stations and in a neighborhood filled with places to eat and grocery stores to shop. I loved that they have lots of fun things happening each night like karaoke and open mic. definitely a fun vibe. There wasn’t a lot of community space available. The downstairs area comfortably seats about 30 people, which is open to the public. There was no place for people to cook their own food like in many hostels, and they didn’t want you to bring food in the rooms. There is a small rooftop area that seats about 6.
