The Hotel Américain is a charming hotel set in the heart of the old area of Paris, called the Marais, surrounded by art galleries, cafes and young fashion designers. Recently renovated, all guest accommodations are soundproofed and equipped with bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, Internet access and, for some, a balcony. Each morning, the breakfast is served in a period dining room with a vaulted ceiling and old stonework. A lounge is also available to fully relax. Close to famous cultural sites like the Picasso Museum, the Pompidou Center and the Opera Bastille, the Hotel Américain is also located a short walk from the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores.

Great location

It was very close to many of the main attractions and very convenient to the metro and great coffee/bakery next door. Challenging to get luggage in elevator and winding stairs but that is Europe for you.

The hotel is in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was a plumbing problem with the toilet. The staff were responsive, however, and the problem was cleared up fairly quickly. The room was quite small, but by Parisian standards, not surprisingly so.

Location Room was so small, like a dorm room. Shower was small with only half a curtain/wall, the hair dryer was archaic

אין מקרר בחדר אין מים קרים במלון, או כל אפשרות למלא מים בבקבוק ארוחת בוקר דלה מאד עולה 11 יורו לאדם ללילה - ממש לא שווה את המחיר מרבית הצוות לא סימפטומים ולא שירותים לא החליפו מצעים בכלל 5 ימים המזגן נכבה אוטומטית אחרי שעתיים בערך וצריך להדליק מחדש, מאד לא נוח בלילה החדר קטן מאד אין חלון בשירותים

היה מזגן בחדר, המיטה נוחה והמיקום טוב. החדר בכלליות היה נקי, החליפו מגבות כל יום אין מקרר בחדר אין מים קרים במלון, או כל אפשרות למלא מים בבקבוק ארוחת בוקר דלה מאד עולה 11 יורו לאדם ללילה - ממש לא שווה את המחיר מרבית הצוות לא סימפטומים ולא שירותים לא החליפו מצעים בכלל 5 ימים המזגן נכבה אוטומטית אחרי שעתיים בערך וצריך להדליק מחדש, מאד לא נוח בלילה החדר קטן מאד אין חלון בשירותים

It was in the heart of Republique with easy access to food, groceries, festivities and cocktails. The staff was kind and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfy. It has been very hot and they have air conditioning to keep the room cool while sleeping. Also a very nice breakfast was included.
