Perfect location Very unique Boutique hotel

Location is fantastic and the property is very charming The interior room furnishing are sparse and quite dated bed frame could do with being replaced

Location, staff, quirkiness of property. No AC, but a fan and that worked.

Location Too many steps it was very difficult to get suitcases to the room. The carpet needs cleaning

Imagine opening your room window and right across the street is the impressive Norte-Dame Cathedral, a quite park right in front of the hotel and a very peaceful street with no traffic, around the corner all cafes and restaurants, as the manager said, this is the center of Paris! Keep in mind you are not getting into a hotel in New York, Las Vegas or Miami Beach, this is history, the building itself is very old, and the construction inside is still based on the times of Esmeralda and Casimodo, pictures of the real Esmeralda are displayed in the lobby. It's a time travel experience!

The front desk staff along with the breakfast staff were super friendly made. Wonderful recommendations will definitely come back.

Location was amazing, staff was wonderful, history of the place was magical. Hands down, I would stay here over and over. Listening to the bells of Notre Dame and seeing it through our window was amazing. There was not a thing I didn’t like. If you cannot manage stairs physically, this may not be the place for you, but the winding stairs to the top floor only added to the charm for us.

GREAT location (don't miss Aux Trois Mailletz on the corner for fantastic food and music!), the staff was outstanding and very helpful. The room was small even for Paris standards, and obviously very old (but we knew that going in).

Excellent location, helpful/kind staff, great bus/metro connectivity, plenty of food options around.

This is a historic hotel a block away from Notre Dame! The room was small but clean and the one we stayed at (#3) was remodeled, nicely decorated, and complete with modern bathroom facilities. I was especially pleased by the new double-paned windows! When you close it, no noise from the street can be heard. I was told by staff that all rooms with Notre Dame view have been renovated, the others not renovated but with modern bathroom facilities. It is family owned, charming and clean! Breakfast is not included in the price but is available upon request the day before. Staff were friendly and helpful. They were even able to recommend a Persian restaurant near by. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again next time. Be aware that there is no elevator, of which you are warned on the Booking site. I was worried it would be old (as in worn-out furniture, windows, carpet, etc.) but I was happily surprised! Elevator would be useful, but it’s a historic old building so it is, what it is. A gentleman helped with the suitcases and graciously declined our tip.

Nitpicking, I'd say that the rooms might do well with some modernizing, but then they'd obviously have to raise the price

Location was unbelievable. Staff was cordial, helpful, friendly in every way. There aren’t many hotels that one could call ‘lovable’ but Hotel Esmeralda definitely is one.
