Hotel Palacio de Arce

The property was located away from the highway and in a safe neighborhood. Parking was located conveniently. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The one major issue was the flies in the inside dining area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had to continually swat flies away from us and our meals. The breakfast buffet was sub-par in contrast with other comparable hotels. Meats and cheeses were laid out at room temperature without any refrigeration or covers (flies had free access to all the food as mentioned above). Fresh fruit not provided every day. The lunch and dinner menu is 95% seafood based (not an issue for seafood enthusiasts, but challenging for those with shellfish allergies or other personal preferences; want travelers to be aware).

Great restaurant, easy access from main road, comfortable rooms and staff were very nice. Definitely will make a return visit. Oh, and great private parking.

The hotel is an an old building, very quaint. Like staying in a country inn. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Very helpful staff who arranged access long after reception closed when my flight into Santander was delayed by several hours. . Room was great. Having to leave early next morning, so I only saw the hotel in the dark and couldn't take advantage of the restaurant.

Style of building

Uncomfortable pillow and mattress. No dinner option during our stay.

Breakfast was the star of the this property, a bit pricey but had everything you can think of in a buffet style breakfast. Rooms were good and spacious and building was very intriguing since it was an old palace. It was a bit far from the touristy areas, around 20 min drive.

The converted building was absolutely stunning. The rooms were very comfortable. The beds were also very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a total disappointment! The orange juice wasn’t fresh. The coffee was cold and it was very expensive twice what it should’ve been! Take a big pass on the breakfast buffet!

Palacio de Arce is extremely nice hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and recently updated. Absolutely our favorite hotel on our trip. Only improvement needed is stronger WiFi signal in the rooms.

Palacio de Arce is the ideal hotel to spend the night before taking the car ferry from Santander. 15 minutes drive from the Brittany Ferry Terminal at Santander. Comfortable rooms. Good food. Great staff.

The hotel itself is stunning and the restaurant was fabulous. Staff, from reception to the restaurant were all very nice, professional and welcoming. No complaints.

Beautiful building, location ideal for ferry port, picturesque setting. Staff were friendly , helpful and spoke English. Breakfast was good. In the bathroom there was a smell of sewage but it did clear. Pillows were very hard
