Bed & Breakfast La Casa di Plinio

No air conditioning, but this is pretty standard in Italy as I discovered on this trip. Only one or two places I booked had it; so it is definitely not the norm.

The property was located to a next door property where there were multiple dogs. The dogs barked constantly, day and night. The dogs were obviously unsupervised because the dogs were never apprehended. It was also a holiday week-end and noisy fireworks went off during the day-time and night. Every time the fireworks went off the dogs barked, even at 2 or 3 in the morning or at 7:00 a.m. Over the week/end there was little sleep. There was never anything wrong with the facilities, it is too bad that there was loud barking constantly and it was stressful to listen to it.

The location is very convenient, within walking distance to the park entrance, restaurants, bus/train stations, and grocery store. Rooms were nice and quiet. Breakfast was good with many choices: yogurt, cereal, eggs, etc. The room lacked a place to hang towels and there was surprisingly no shampoo. The street to the B&B is a little gross (not that the owners are responsible for that). There really isn’t much wrong overall.

Room was quite small. Would have liked a bottle of water. A bit of miscommunication before check-in, but it got resolved quickly.

Nice staff. Comfortable rooms and baths. Walkable in 10 minutes to train, archaeological sites and center of town. Excellent value. Near supermarket so you can keep kitchen stocked.

Conveniently located, great breakfast, nice staff.

A quiet location not far from the train station and close to the entrances of the Pompeii Archeological Site. Tight space is cleverly designed to provide with the necessary comfort. A tiny room is exceptionally clean and has just enough space for a single traveler without large luggage. Excellent and delicious breakfast. Many thanks to the hosts whose efforts and warm attention make you feel at home.

This place was great! I loved the room and outside sitting area. The check-in directions were straight forward and Salvatore was very responsive & helpful for any questions I asked. He sent me great instructions from for hiking “the Path of the Gods” on the Amalfi coast from Pompei. He is also a tour guide for the Pompeii ruins if you can book him in advance! The breakfast was fresh and flavorful! I would definitely stay here again!

The room was nice and the host was so lovely. Breakfast is DELICIOUS. Host also gave great advice on visiting the ruins and nearby towns. Do not really have any complaints. The beds are not, maybe, the comfiest.

Breakfast is not what was advertised. No one was there to let us in. Unfriendly staff in the morning. Rock hard beds. Barking dogs much of the time. It was very unpleasant staying here. It’s over-rated

Breakfast was wonderful, and Anna was very friendly. Very accommodating letting us leave our things at the property while we explored Pompeii. Nothing. Everything was great. Reviews complained of a dog barking and maybe train noise. The dog did not bark much and it was a pretty quiet train. I would stay here again. Neither of those things were a bother.

Spotlessly clean. The breakfast was great, eggs cooked to specifications, plus croissants, bread, juice, coffee etc. It was a nice bonus to have a fridge, kettle, and hairdryer. It was great to have the option of turning on the heat. It is very close to the Pompeii archeological sight, and some great restaurants. The single room is really small, you can hear the trains passing by, other guests entering and leaving the room beside you, and the rumbling sound of the parking gate opening and closing. Check in was a hot mess. The host gave me incorrect info about the distance from the airport shuttle bus drop-off, which was almost twice as far (a 20 minute walk) as I was told. Check in instructions were not received until 2 pm, when I was literally standing at the gate. I had to ring 3 times before someone answered. Then it was a flurry of over 10 messages, which was too much to process standing outside in the pouring rain. On the intercom, I was instructed to go to up to the wooden door, and the key would be there. Which I did, not realising it was someone else's room (though they hadn't checked in yet). Later I saw my key had a #7 on the key chain. None of the rooms have numbers on the doors. If they did, I don't think the room mix ups would happen. I found the management stand-offish, and unwelcoming, and I was scolded for going to the wrong room, and told I should have checked the check-in messages very carefully. It was generally unpleasant interacting with them.
