This hotel is not your typical Best Western! It is brimming with charm and character! The gorgeous staircase is original. How do I know? The owner, who was at the reception desk upon our arrival, shared all we wanted to know about this beautiful historic building. He was extremely personable and hospitable, opening the front door for guests if available to do so. Free parking is a short distance away in a large easily accessible lot. Short and easy drive from here to Mont Saint Michel. Our only regret is not having breakfast here as it looked amazing. There was nothing not to like.

Loved the location, both hotel (16th century and brimming with character) and town (quiet at night, easy access to Mont St. Michel, and also brimming with old charm), and the staff was quite attentive and answered my many questions in English, whether about the hotel, town, or Mont St Michel. My friend felt claustrophobic in the smallest elevator either of us has ever been in, but I was fine (I'm not a large person), and the elevator wasn't really necessary as we were on the first floor. The only other complication was the result of my own ignorance. I thought I was booking two separate twin beds, but in France, the beds are put together and made as if one large bed.

Nothing Hello everyone! When we arrived at the hotel, we found that the rooms were filled with an incredibly stuffy smell, and it was completely impossible to air them out. On the morning of the second day, I discovered numerous bedbug bites — they had truly feasted on me! When I was leaving the hotel, I showed the massive bite marks at the reception. The clerk called the manager, who, instead of apologizing, began by saying that it was strange that I had not reported the bites earlier, but only upon check-out! I asked him to treat guests with proper respect instead of doubting their honesty. We left the hotel and saw the manager running after us. We thought he wanted to apologize, but it turned out he only wanted to advise me to go to a pharmacy and buy a cream for bedbug bites! I could never have imagined that in civilized 21st-century France such negligence could occur! This hotel should be closed and thoroughly disinfected to eliminate the insect infestation. P.S. The hotel manager promised that, as compensation, I would be refunded for the two nights I had spent at the hotel. I hope he keeps his word. Arina Alexandrov

Location

Room was old, dated, had to climb stairs with heavy luggage.
-
Although we had rainy weather there was an awesome court yard available, and a breakfast room with great views and food. They handled gluten free well. We loved the old old building. The location is great within the town itself.

Everything ! It s a comfortable time machine. Thank you

The room was very nice. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The manager was helpful with recommendations. Nothing.

An older property (1557 ?), the common areas show some wear. That said, the room was modern and well-appointed.

Exceptional

If you like antics, its great. Smelly a bit, not the best layout of the rooms, require renovation

The room was beautiful! Not much to do walking distance.

We loved the building with its rich history and its location so close to Mont Saint Michel. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is probably the best Best Western I've ever been in! If you're a tourist looking to stay at fun unique places don't think this is just your average best western. It's a unique hotel with a brand name!

really nice small hotel in a great location for visiting Mont St Michelle - dog friendly - easy on street parking outside of the hotel - typical rural linear village with useful shops and restaurants within a few hundred meters.

Beautiful building in the city center

Location: it’s 8-10 mins walk from Pontorson railway station, from where you could go to Mont Saint-Michel by No 2 bus. If you want to go hiking from the hotel to Saint-Michel, it probably takes 2 hours, trust me the view is great! Community: very quiet and there are many restaurants, you’d enjoy the food. Room: very clean and comfortable. Staff: BW staffs are excellent and extremely friendly and wonderful! They helped us with check in, getting us the bus schedule, and recommending good restaurants. Thank you all so much :) WiFi is kind of slow.
