Stayed two nights here with my partner and it was OK. We were at the 146 pine st location. The facilities were fine—perfectly clean and had the basics, though we thought the rooms looked nicer online than in person. The neighborhood was really nice though and the area felt safe—definitely one of the nicer areas in Portland. Parking was also very easy. The 146 pine st location of West End Inn is unstaffed (or at least was from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning when we stayed there). We let ourselves in with a key code. Overall it felt pretty odd and eerie that we didn’t see a single person there all weekend (guests or staff).

The accommodations were clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and a great way to start the day. Our hosts were interesting, cheerful and very accommodating. The neighborhood was quiet. A great place to stay in Portland! Lots of steps to climb with our suitcases, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Wow! What a gem! After a long day exploring the Old Port, it was so nice to get away to a quieter, less touristy part of Portland. There are loads of great restaurants in walking distance and the neighborhood is perfect for an evening wind down walk. The inn itself is beautiful. The art throughout made it feel like staying in a museum, and every space felt like it was designed with so much thought and care. This was easily one of the coziest and most memorable places we stayed on our trip throughout Maine and NH. It felt like a destination in itself and we didn't want to leave! The breakfast was also incredible - probably the best meal we had in Portland even with all the great restaurants we tried! We were only disappointed that we were only there for one morning because the entire menu looked amazing!

Location, historic building, attractive. Subpar HVAC. Ease of use of property comparatively challenging.

We skipped breakfast because we have dietary restrictions and didn’t communicate in advance, plus are very early risers and generally were he on our way out at breakfast time or before. This was a splurge for a birthday trip and it was worth it. The only improvement might be switching away from what seems like microfiber sheets - they really retain heat, which might be nice in winter but in summer is a bit rough. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends/family.

Beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Well-appointed rooms and thoughtful touches throughout the common areas. Delicious breakfast made to order. Kind and positive staff.

Did not really like the property. Room 5 was in the attic space up 2 flights of small hot staircases. The Room was underwhelming. No mini fridge for drinks or TV. Small ac unit in the only and already small window. Nothing that would distinguish this as a deluxe room. No designated parking other than the street.

Overpricred. Rooms could be cleaner. Decent location. Rooms need some work. No elevator to third floor. Difficult to carry luggage up stairs.

We stayed in the facility on Neal Street. It was absolutely beautiful! We appreciated the amenities and what was offered. The innkeeper/chef and wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious! I appreciated that the inn was in a quiet neighborhood, but was close to downtown Portland as well. I wish there was a TV in the room. I do like to watch TV before going to sleep. I know not everyone would agree with that. I was able to survive without it. Ha ha!

The bed was as hard as a rock and lumpy. My niece slept on the floor because it was at least not lumpy.

    Wonderful staff and scrumptious breakfast
