Comfortable Clean

A bit dated and smallish room, but great value for the money.

Room was quiet, cool and dark. Location is v central on the main square. Shower is strong. Clean sheets and towels. On entering I found the place old fashioned and unattractive. Very unfriendly receptionist at check-in, we arrived tired from our travels and a bit slow trying to understand the payment method - she was impatient, snappy and rude. I felt unsafe and unwelcome. My travel companion was also appalled. After a few minutes of conversation I really wanted to leave and find somewhere else to stay but she wouldn’t me to cancel. It really spoiled our experience of Porto. The lift was tiny and we could hardly fit in (2 people with backpacks), our ‘superior twin room’ was weird with crappy decor and an odd smell. No view from the window. Our single beds were pushed together with no space in between. The bathroom is just a frosted glass cornered off area so you can see/hear each other shit & shower. The WiFi doesn’t work properly unless you stand outside the room in the hallway. The toilet doesn’t flush properly. Toiletries are basic. We went to breakfast in the morning (which was very basic, very little choice and low quality ingredients) and nobody told us that it would cost extra on top of our booking. On checking out I was shocked to be told we had to pay €15 each and we’d literally only had a coffee and some boiled eggs on bread as we are both lactose intolerant and we don’t eat meat.

Location Clean room There was construction onsite, which was very loud and all day ( luckily I just needed it for overnight stay - which was quite) Breakfast not included Room is clean but very basic ( no water bottles, coffee/ tea, iron …) Not the best choice if you have large suitcases or issues with stairs as the entry to lobby is via stairs

Only the location is perfect The room is very small, hair dryer was not working, one cannot even breathe in the room

Very clean room and great breakfast Great location No elevator to the reception
-
The stairs entering the hotel were difficult to maneuver with luggage.

Well located. Good value. I booked a twin beds to stay with my son, but they gave as full bed because there was no room available with twin beds.

Great location before starting The Camino. Close to the cathedral, restaurants, the train station. Tiny room on the third floor. Small bathroom. A tall person might have trouble using the toilet! One window opened to a small courtyard with loud mechanical noises. Bed had two flat pillows.

Lack of coffee in room.

The desk clerk was accommodating to our needs.

Location, staff , clean rooms

The staff is great and the rooms are clean enough. Of course, it’s your typical 70s Portuguese style hotel, so don’t expect any luxury. The inconvenient part was that the bathroom had a glass wall, so it was kinda awkward staying there with a friend.
