Our room didn't have air conditioning, only a fan. Unfortunately, it was very loud, but turning it off wasn't really an option because the room became too hot to sleep comfortably. Opening the window didn't help much either, as it faced a basement wall and there was almost no fresh air. As a result, getting a good night's sleep was difficult. Breakfast was quite basic, and some of the pastries seemed to be from the previous day and were no longer fresh.

Everything went well.. good hotel at a great location. Everything is walkable. Staff is excellent. Room was very spacious although no view. It was perfect to be honest. They also allowed to store luggage. I will definitely book again when I am back in Porto. They could have had drinking water for guests.

Good location. Postage stamp size room. This was probably once a lovely hotel, but it's way past its prime.

The room I was put in was a bit small and I had to lay my suitcase out on the floor. I wish I had space to lay it out on a Suitcase Rack or something high.

The only good thing for this hotel is location. The carpet is old, dirty and smelly. The lock on out room didn't work after we came back from our dinner. They don't have any maintenance people to fix the lock so since there is only one girl work at night and we need to get our medicine inside the room. The girl staff told us that we have to wait until morning so we told her that we need our medication so she call her friend to come by to have them break the lock. We waited for 1 and 1/2 hours for her friends to show up and waited another 2 hours at this time it was 11:30pm already and we have to leave early in the morning. They should have offer another room, an apology or something but no. I was totally disappointed with poor service and lack of acknowledgement in their part.

    Liked it all.

Perfect location. Old-fashioned overall. I was given a large regular key with a tag attached with my room number. I misread the number first and entered a wrong room with the key. After I realised my mistake, I was able to open the correct room with the same key. Does it mean that all the locks in the hotel can be open with any room key?

Perfect location, good staff, very interesting atmosphere of the 70-80’ies Everything very old. Hung up the swimming trunks on the shower stall and they were stained with black unwashable machine oil. It was a pity. The breakfast is ok , nothing great , simple and basic

The room was clean as was the bathroom. Extra blankets were provided in the room. Nice staff at the front desk. 24 hour front desk was helpful for late night check in. TV was fuzzy on every channel. Ruckus went on outside on the street level near the trash cans between 2 am and 5 am which woke me up both nights. No fitted sheet on the mattress, just a flat sheet that wasn't tucked in.

Thin walls, could hear inside and outside noise at all hours

  • Engine customer Nov 2025

    Bed was quite hard.

The location is very convenient just opp the Sao Bento station. DO note that there are construction works happening around the city and in front of the station. Breakfast is available daily. The room we were given had mold issues on the wall. The room and bathroom were smelly with the musty smell. It is such a pity being at a good location - but this is a serious health hazard. We were only in the room at night after tours so just endured it.

we loved the location and we loved the charm of this wonderful old hotel. Also, we found the staff to be very pleasant. Th e bed was quite uncomfortable and the breakfast could perhaps have been changed every once in a while to provide a little variety.

Location and people working back at breackfast area, the menu at breackfast needs fruits, and I requested if I can use a glass at the front desk ( we don’t have a simple cup or glass) was denayed I have to drink my tea rushing in the recepción The girl at reception was very rude all the time needs some empathy skills The worst when we got to Barcelona our next place in our schedule we realize someone took two new perfums ( we have the recibe from duty free $120 value and a bottle of shower gel( big size for 3)
