The Rosedale Hotel
About The Rosedale Hotel
Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbor the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 bedrooms with attached bathroom with all expected facilities. Due to the nature of the building there is no elevator and rooms are only accessible via stairs. We do not provide porterage, and the hotel is on the pier itself so there is a walk up some stairs or a hill to get into the town area. We offer Room only Rates (providing overnight accommodations only) and Bed and Breakfast Rates (providing overnight accommodations and breakfast based on the maximum occupancy of the room). Dinner is not included in these room rates. The Rosedale Restaurant is an intimate dining room on the 1st floor of our harbor front hotel. We aim to offer fresh, seasonal produce with an emphasis on local seafood. With views over Portree Bay we hope to serve you a memorable meal from start to finish. Please note: Dinner is not included in your room rate. All dinner reservations are made on a first come first serve basis, we do not prioritize hotel guests. We would advise you to make reservations for any events/restaurants you wish to attend as Skye gets busy very quickly and it's difficult to find availability on the day. We are a dog friendly hotel only, with a £15.00 per night/per dog charge. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per room. Please be aware that guests are liable for any damages and/or soiling on hotel property caused by your dog(s) and will be charged accordingly.

Great value and excellent staff. Beautiful location in the harbor. Had a perfect window view of the water and the ships coming and going. Room was larger than we predicted. Bathtub was luxury

The location was fantastic with a wonderful view of the harbor from our window. The room was cozy and clean. I loved having a window in the bathroom and the big tub was nice for a bath. Breakfast was lovely and even though it was continental style, there were tremendous protein options each morning. There is no hotel parking but there is a public lot a very short walk away with £5 daily parking.

Super well located. The facilities are very old and somewhat unsettling, and the hotel could definitely use a major renovation. There were some questionable stains on the floor in the room and throughout the property, which made the stay uncomfortable. The restaurant was also closed, and overall, the hotel was quite different from what was advertised and shown in the pictures.

We had a nice view from our window. The breakfast was pretty good. The restaurant and bar were open once out of 4 nights. The girl manning bar was not friendly. Attention to detail inside and out could be better was bit unloved. The room price for the facilities/size was very high.

Location excellent and room very comfortable. Accessibility is a bit problematic.

did not have breakfast as not included in already expensive price no feeling of welcome of actually being a customer we arrived in pouring rain before the check in time of 4.00. We were told to go away again and not to come back before check in time. tried to book restaurant for the evening. but full of non residents. earliest slot 21.00

The location The hallway from the entrance to my room was narrow, with a heavy smell of mold and visibly dirty, stained carpets. After just one night, I woke up with itchy skin all over — clearly an allergic reaction to the poor conditions. On the positive side, the breakfast was decent, and the staff were generally friendly. Special mention goes to one gentleman staff member who was genuinely helpful. Overall, however, the hotel is not worth the price given the serious hygiene issues.

Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices. Friendly staff. Very spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows. Being close to the harbor was very nice. Great location to walk to other restaurants. Lighting in the bathroom wasn’t the greatest. Strange to have separate water faucets. Could have used a couple more towels.

Disappointing

The hotel is on the arbor, nice view of the see. Building too hold, no lift to bring up the luggage. The walls of the rooms need to be restored a bit in several points. Difficult to park the car: the public parking is a bit far from the hotel. Be aware that you must pay the park fee starting from 8:00 AM.

Superb location, right on the harbour front at Portree. We sat at a window table for breakfast so could admire the beautiful view over the picturesque harbour. We had room 23 at the top and back of the hotel, where the windows were high up and looked onto the road. The mattress was uncomfortable, so after the first night I asked for an extra duvet to go on top of the mattress, which made it more comfortable to sleep. However, staff were kind enough to deal with this straightaway which was impressive.

Great location. Lovely view of the harbour. Parking is an issue in Portree but it was manageable
