Even though the beds were bunk beds, and I had a top bunk, the mattress was firm. Location is prime and perfect for navigating the city, especially for first-time visitors. There is a nearby coffee shop with amazing coffee - Spaleny kafe For people with troubled sleep, the streets outside are really noisy. I personally didn't mind because I can sleep anywhere but the noise was noticeable (although it sort of comes with the location).

One of reason that makes this property great to stay with is “Martin … at the Bar”! Aside from being a great bar tender, he is extremely helpful and will take good care of you! He assists well hotel guests. Martin truly represents the warmth of the Czech/Slovak people. The property has a great location. It is relatively clean. Each flat has its own kitchen amenities, which is great! To further improve your service, I would suggest to kindly add probably a hair dryer and kindly change the bathroom floor mat daily to keep it dry and tidy. Generally, it was a great experience! Thank you Travel and Joy!

It's old, it's rustic...but oh so lovely for the right people. For me, this place was just spot on. My ideal day is to get an early start, be busy all day with city sights or day trips, for then to return, have a shower and not have to go any further than down to the ground floor for food and beers in an outdoor restaurant where smoking is allowed. The hostel is actually in an old apartment block, with 2 apartments on each floor. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area, a toilet and a shower, and 2 rooms which now are dorms or private rooms. Very unusual and nice. My room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed. Soap, shampoo, hairdryer a fan and toilet paper was supplied, but strangely no towels. You can buy them at the reception, but I have my own. Excellent location so close to everything. Excellent WiFi throughout and the staff speak English. I loved the cozy courtyard bar and restaurant downstairs, DSA, which is open to the public and frequented by Czech people. Good prices, large portions and less tourist tricks than in the old town as long as you mind your bill and check your change:). There's also a street facing bar with a couple of tables in the alley way...kind of the same restaurant though. The bar is closing a bit early, at 9pm, but then again, getting an early start in Prague is good to beat the crowds.

I enjoyed staying here for conveniences.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

    Doors are very noisy.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

It is noisy because the building and some rooms are close trams ?

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

It’s perfect , and very good.

I was unable to figure out how to adjust the water temperature in the shower. It’s always either too cold or too hot.

  • Engine customer May 2026

The creaking door. The hinges need greasing.

  • Engine customer May 2026

No warm water just hot and cold... The sound of the tram wakes you up early in the morning and the building shakes... I didn't get fined for anything but there is a fine for everything.

Facility is centrally located and close to tram stop. Hostel has a restaurant and cafe on property. No elevator for upper floors.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Its very lively hostel and very close to old town featuring a good bar too

  • Engine customer May 2026

There is no common area really. There is some benches outside and small seating next to the reception, but it is not a very social hostel. Might have been just the time when I was staying there though! Good for the price and for groups, but not so much for solo travellers looking to find new people.

Good hotel overall, and the location is close to the city center. Receptionists are kind and welcoming. Good hotel overall, and the location is close to the city center, which was convenient. However, the tram noise was quite loud. Slippers and similar amenities were listed, but I couldn’t find them in the room. Also, the curtain didn’t close properly at the top.

The location The mess they have, the smell of humidity, the darkness of the celar where they put us. They are not so well organized, they have broken things here and there, they try to be clean but fail. The facility itself has a chalenge to make a dark cellar confortable, it has a strong smell to stagnated humidity, no natural light, and poor artificial lightning, there were electric issues, confusing bed assignments, broken lockers in the one night I stayed there.

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

It was extremely humid in the no window room, I don’t recommend it if you have any lung issues

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

Close to the city center and main spots by walk Clean, no noise, there’s a kitchen with fridge, microwave, hairdryer and iron. No elevator ?

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

    Dampy.

    Nice place

The Location is very central and many of the most interesting spots are directly within walking distance. There are cafes and two supermarkets as well as ATMs nearby. The building has a lot of charm as it is very old. The rooms facing the street are very loud as there are two tram stops right outside and the windows are not very soundproof. The shower and bathroom are a little rustic, and there is a key deposit that has to be paid in cash which I did not know ahead of time.
