Hotel At the Golden Scissors

3story walk up. No elevator.

Air conditioning was most appreciated especially during the European heat wave taking place. I wish the cafe bar was open later

Large room with easy access to the Charles Bridge. Air conditioning worked well, nice shower and comfortable bed. The included breakfast was good. Being above the restaurant.

They make you feel like family There is a restaurant in the building. The smells goes up to the rooms

Good location This is not really a hotel; it is a set of apartments located above a pub. Check-in is handled by a waitress rather than hotel staff. There is no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up to the 4th floor using very narrow stairs, which felt unsafe. Check-out is at 10:00 a.m., which is unacceptable for a property advertised as a 4-star hotel. To make matters worse, there was no water at all in the morning. I asked for a later check-out so I could wait for the water to be restored, take a shower, and brush my teeth, but my request was refused.

Loved the location, historical building, and wonderful staff. Did not like the stairs to the fourth floor, but we knew in advance that an elevator was not a possibility in such historical building.

The location was amazing! Super close to St Charles bridge. Quiet street that was tucked away from crowds with nice historical feel. Room was quaint, roomy and felt like a BnB. Nice bathroom and shower. Very safe and secure. Really good little breakfast. Let us have a little bit later checkout. The wall a/c is only for the summer season. No remote available or ability to turn on. Room was stuffy and radiators were turned on when we checked in. Windows had no screens and smaller insects were out that night so we did not want to open windows. No fan available. In the morning we aired it out and was fine. Bed was bit hard.

Close to Charles bridge and central Prague Noise from kitchen at 0630 in the morning, I suspect that was to prepare the breakfast but still it was noisy and kept me awake

Very nice reception. The room was very clean and comfortable. High ceilings gave it added charm and space. Steps away from the stairs leading up to the Charles Bridge. Location was amazing!!! Easy access to either side of the river. There’s no elevator, so ask for a lower floor if you’re carrying much luggage.

A beautiful room that was very spacious. The staff was very helpful, too. One of the best things about the hotel is that is close to the Charles Bridge, but the surrounding neighborhood is very peaceful. Much preferred versus staying in the Old Town. Also, the hotel is incredibly clean. Just remember there is no elevator so you will have to carry your bags upstairs.

The water pressure in the bathroom could be better.

Our room at Hotel Golden Scissors was very clean, well furnished, with fresh linens and appropriate amenities. We appreciated the central location and loved that there was a Christmas market immediately in front of the hotel. The staff was very thoughtful in freshening our room daily, restocking water in our fridge, and arranging an airport taxi during our departure. The stay was wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for our experience to be anything more. I would personally appreciate a few more clothes hangers.

We selected this hotel because of its location right next to the Charles Bridge.  We fell in love the first sight with the maple trees and gas lamps lined cobblestone street in front of the hotel.  The room was clean and roomy. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. It is within walking distance to the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square with its Astronomical Clock, Jewish Quarter … The breakfast was fantastic.  The hotel management was also very friendly and helpful; we especially appreciated Martin who helped us arrange a Taxi to the train station to go to Vienna. We will select this hotel the next time we are in Prague. none

Great location!! The area is beautiful, small Christmas market stalls right outside hotel. The breakfast was great! The hotel was difficult to find. Check-in was rushed and internet details were not given. The hotel controls the heat! Not everyone enjoys a hot room in the winter. We were told to simply open windows for fresh air. That’s great and all, but when there is a market right outside your room the noise makes it difficult to sleep. Would prefer to adjust own temperature in room.

The location is AMAZING! Steps from the bridge. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance. The breakfast was delicious and we ate at the restaurant some which was also very good. Could not have asked for a better experience and if we come back to Prague we will stay there again. They also set up private transfer for us from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the train station.
