The Alex Apartments

Good value, warm, easy walk to town, super close to supermarket. Handy washer-dryer, well-stocked kitchen. Comfy lounge furniture and some view across to the gondola. Bed very hard, better once found a mattress topper in a wardrobe. 3 flights of stairs total from the street level so not so suitable for a less able person (OK for me). No sun. Dinner table wobbly.

The address is not marked on the building, nor is there any sign designating The Alex Apartments. I had to call the office, only to learn that the office was located at a completely different location. I had to plead for the codes to get in, after my "damage deposit" credit card was declined inexplicably. I have never before been asked for a damage deposit, and I did not like giving out my credit card info unnecessarily. I was exhausted after a long day of hiking and bus travel and was not happy at these obstacles to just being able to rest! Thankfully, I was allowed in without the deposit.

The location was good. Only about 10-15 min walk to downtown. The parking was convenient and secure. The apartment itself was very comfortable and clean. All the amenities that you need were available. Great view. Nearby groceries across the street. Washer/dryer worked well. Would definitely book again . Honestly not a big deal, but there are a lot of stairs to lug your luggage up . The showers could use a caddy on the wall to hold the body wash and shampoo and conditioner bottles. It was kind of annoying to keep them on the ground .

Perfect for our needs! Great location. Nice kitchen and living space. Loved looking out the kitchen window to see the wildflowers. Also loved the view from the living room.

The unit was very tiny, thought we had a carpark, but did not and their response was not appreciated at all. Very poor service and would not book there again.

They were extremely hard to find and the building has no name or number on it The contact address given to me to pick up the key likewise had no number on it so was also difficult to find Had we been given the name of the premises as well as the number in the street we would have found it easily This made for a pretty stressful checkin and took us a couple of hours to sort out as we had no phone or internet Parking is also a nightmare as there was only street parking available to us either restrictions but the parking lot under the building was almost empty for our whole stay

Not happy that a prepay deposit was taken, despite not seeing this requirement on Booking.com. Also there was no personal service - no means of saying to anyone if we had a problem whilst in the property. Kitchen equipment was sparse for the number of people. Layout was impractical for a family with a 2 year old. See above

Good location, very tidy & clean. Small kitchen but has everything you need. Very small. No outside area, quite noisey with people coming & going. Lack of privacy.

Location and cleanliness It was dark due to having to have the blinds down due to being on a communal walkway and apartments opposite above looking dow. It was also stuck between two upstairs apartments which meant constant noise from people going up and down and talking above. This was fine during the day but very annoying and disruptive during the night.

It was actually very easy as we were able to phone and grab the codes over the phone. However we had already driven to the collection point before finding this out

The furniture, well-equipped kitchen, wash and dry machine, and nice cark park No elevator, but take stairs as exercise, no harm.
