La Guyonnais Chambre d'hôtes

The gite is situated down a long cul de sac. The lovely Chrystelle and her husband took over this running business in March this year. There are 2 gite buildings and the owner’s property. Breakfast is taken in the main house at one large table with all other residents ( which may not be to some people’s liking) The pool is lovely and quiet but the single umbrella there is broken and needs replacing. I thought long about writing this review as I don’t like to give a negative feedback and the owners are so lovely but … We stayed in the room “ framboise” and we got with an overwhelming smell of damp/ cellar upon arrival. Unfortunately our clothes have picked up this smell and even after a week all our clothes, shoes, jackets and backpacks still smell. We naturally left the windows open all day but this didn’t help. We didn’t inform the owners as they were fully booked and wouldn’t have been able to give us another room. The room was very dark as it’s up a flight of stairs into the eves of the building. Area surrounded by trees so no daylight from the back. The pictures on booking look better than the actual property. The bed has two mattresses. One was 3 cm/s higher than the other.
