Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina

Only 1 elevator very far away from front view rooms. Pool and spa unavailable… during summer!

They sent us to a sister hotel to use their pool, but the pool was very small and there was barely any space to sit around it. We also booked an ocean-view room. While we did have an ocean view, there was a large parking structure directly in front of us, which was very disappointing. I would never stay here again. For the price we paid, we expected much more.

It should be noted that it is a VERY LONG walk from the parking structure to the elevator, then another VERY LONG walk to the room if you are above Room #50 on any floor. Inconvenient if you are coming + going often. I inquired about a reduced rate for the $40/day parking garage but was told the garage is owned by a separate company and they don't have a "relationship" with them. HOWEVER, we were told to use our hotel room key for entering and exiting the garage! Seems dishonest. We did not know until we arrived that the swimming pool was closed for renovations, something that should have been noted on their website, as their pretty promo photos show a beautiful pool.

There is a small laundry room on site - just before the pool entrance so we did our washing after the first week whilst relaxing by the pool (need plenty of quarters!). We had a couple of drinks in the bar but mainly walked a short distance for food and drink options around Redondo Beach (15mins) and Hermosa Beach (25mins) plus there are a few restaurants opposite which are also good. Cheesecake Factory and the Surf Club. Parking is expensive but we found a street around the corner for free - just need to ensure you park facing the same way as the traffic and adhere to the signs for when there is street cleaning which meant switching sides on Thu and Friday. When we come back to Redondo Beach we will definitely be staying here. Can't wait.

Everyone was very friendly No breakfast, something small would be noce like juice, milk, coffee, toast, fruit, bagel. Pool was closed

Beaches are a long walk or short drive to nearby Hermosa Beach; however, there is a cove beach across the street w plenty of water activities in the area. Pool is on 2’d floor. Most rooms have no view, but pool and sidewalk views are best. Also, standard rooms have no balcony! Most rooms w view can be quite a walk to the elevator, and pool, ice machine, and one microwave per floor. There are refrigerators in room but not a microwave. Otherwise, everything about the room, lobby bar, food, and amenities is wonderful and convenient!

Great place. Staff is always so pleasant. We’ve stayed here a couple times and it’s always great. Bike rentals are also so convenient and affordable.

Close to the beach and places to eat. Air con was loud and bathroom was old, toilet had a leak. Good location needs updating

The location was pretty easy and nice We had no hot water , I had to bath in the pool locker room . The engineer told me that because my room was on the top floor that is why we were having trouble getting hot water!! That is ridiculous . We were staying in a king ocean view room & didn’t even have hot water! Hotel is old and dated . They prioritize their airline contracts over general public . So prepare to stand inline or be asked to step aside if airline crew come while you are checking in. Then they never told us about the breakfast that came with our stay . What a rip off!

The bathroom has saloon shutter doors, leaving little privacy, these could be updated. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. Away from the crowds. Parking is $40 a night and the food at the hotel is very expensive for what you get.

Highly recommended. Upon our late check in we were greeted nice and offered waters. Check in was fast. We got late check in. Valet parking was $45. Close to the pier. Definitely booking again.
