Who wouldn’t want to stay in a 600 year old medieval castle?!! Old world decor, classic Austrian charm, incredible vintage woodwork and lighting, and totally unique, historic metalwork finishes make this a one-of-a-kind, truly romantic experience for any type of traveler! You really feel like a medieval prince or princess coming home to their cozy castle every day after skiing, dinner, or other activities! It’s definitely clear why Robert Redford chose to stay here of all places while filming the classic ski movie Downhill Racer in Kitzbuhel! Lovely and generous breakfast buffet with welcoming and friendly staff in a beautiful, classic dining room with lots of vintage Austrian decor. If you’re looking for sleek modern alpine design, this place is not for you, but if you’re looking for a totally unique vintage experience and the warmth of a family-owned and operated castle, this place is truly a dream come true! I loved everything about it!

Nice authentic building. Cleanliness of the room. They were dirty (and not cleaned) with damaged facilities

On check-out we were charged cca 20 EUR more than what booking.com advised. Without receipt. My bad I did not complain, I realized too late I could have shown them the info in application.

The facility outside appearance. Despite preparing for the room, after noticing that recent comments from others were accurate, we left immediately. This place should not be listed on Booking.com as it doesn't have the same standards as many of Booking.com lodging facilities.

Very stylish interior and nice staff. The place is unique. Would highly recommend!

This quaint, old-world castle was a charming place to stay & the hospitality was friendly, courteous & fun. The goulash-suppe was the best we EVER ate & the dining room was pretty. There’s a very comfy sofa in the ski boot room, typical of the attention given to detail in the castle. We found noise travelled between our connecting rooms

Schloss Münicau is a secret gem close to the world renowned ski resort, Kitzbühl. It’s run by the wife and daughters of the founder who re built it with his own hands following a devastating fire many years ago. It oozes the traditional Austrian elegance and “old school” charm often lacking in more contemporary hotels. Plus the hosts famous ?? Austrian “gastfreundlichkeit” or “friendly towards guests” that make a solo traveler or family feel that they’re home from home. Not a lot…

Beautiful castle-hotel, like a fairy tale. The lady in the restaurant was very kind as a real good fairy. Breakfast was delicious, dinner was fantastic, especially the apricot dumpling. A lot of living plant inside and in the garden. Several porcelain, decorative pillow. Realy wonderful place. -

Well...it´s really extrordinary place...I have never slept in such old house before. I just missed Dracula...It´s not place for fearful people... My windows were on street side...you can hear every single car...

The atmosphere, a little quirky, but special. Good breakfast and wonderful swimming pool Hard to say, nothing really

Interesting accommodation in a castle with nice surroundings. The room is quite big and the whole building including the restaurant is very interesting and nice. The parking lot is sufficient, the chateau also has a garden with a swimming pool. The hotel facilities were already a bit worn and out of date. Both the bed and the floor were very creaky, they urgently need restoration together with the chairs and armchair. Even the cleaning could be more thorough. There was no soap in the bathroom. It would also deserve a renewal. The breakfast was sufficient, but the cleanliness of the cutlery and tablecloths was not the best.

Great location , very special old interior, castle style, good breakfast, wonderful garden. We had Problems right upon arrival: we did not receive the large superior room that we had booked ahead. The receptionist was not very polite nor helpful. He did not seem very literate regarding IT and their booking system. First we were offered a very small room under the roof. After our complaints we ended up in another, but much smaller room than the one we had booked . The staff receptionist was not very apologetic nor understanding. A rather unfriendly welcome!

Very nice style, really like a castle with many small details here and there that were completing the picture. A comfortable stay, amazing for a short stay for sure. The location is somewhat remote, we needed to walk for ~30 minutes to come from the train stop (arriving in Kutzbühel in the evening), and a bit less to a bus stop the next day.
