It was impossible to close the curtains on the window, so it can be complicated for the people who sleep in total darkness. Hot meals for breakfast are a la carte and only include different types of eggs, sausages, waffles and pancakes. There was no porrige, no fruit for breakfast.

Dear Booking.com Customer Service, I would like to submit a complaint regarding our recent stay at Grande Albergo delle Rose in Rhodes. We were traveling as a family: myself, my husband, our 4-month-old baby, and my parents with my adult sister. We booked two rooms. Before making the reservation, I noticed that Booking.com did not allow me to select three guests for one room. I checked the hotel’s Q&A section, where the hotel stated that the Queen Room accommodates three guests. To be absolutely sure, I also contacted the hotel directly. They confirmed that the Queen Room was suitable for three guests, so I booked and paid in full for the more expensive Queen Room, as the reservation was non-refundable. When we arrived, we were shocked to be told that my sister was not included and that we had to pay an extra €40 per night (€120 in total). I showed the reception staff our conversation with the hotel, but they were not interested in helping. The reservations employee was particularly unfriendly, and after a delayed flight and arriving with a 4-month-old baby, this was a very disappointing welcome. What made the experience even worse was that, before our arrival, I had informed the hotel that we needed a baby cot, and they confirmed it would not be a problem. However, upon arrival, we were told the room was too small for a cot. We had no energy to argue and had to let our baby sleep in the stroller. To make matters worse, although we reached the second floor by elevator, we still had to carry the stroller up another flight of stairs every single time we entered or left our room. This was extremely difficult and completely unsuitable for a family with an infant. When we asked for another room, we were simply told that the hotel was fully booked. This entire experience ruined what should have been a relaxing vacation.

Location was good. Rooms are very old, the wall to wall carpet was probably 30 years old. You can smell the moisture and mold in the room even though we were on the 2nd floor. If you are allergic it is terrible.

We never ordered from the menu as the breakfast buffet was adequate to our requirements. A large selection including proteins, cheeses, breads, nuts, fruits and cereals among others. The staff was prompt and friendly. The dining area was large and clean. There was a patio option that we also utilized. The size of the coffee. I need starter fluid. Those little tiny cups just don't do it for me. Not really a problem I suppose I just kept asking for more which was promptly delivered.

We had a very spacious suite. Excellent breakfast service. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. At day 3, stay remembers your breakfast preferences. Wonderful.

Sports body massage Roof top bar accessible via casino, beach sun beds were an extra cost.

The breakfast was amazing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Top rate! The woman at the front desk was so friendly and just extremely welcoming. She does a great job. my only regret with her, is I didn’t get her name. There really wasn’t anything we did like!

Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious, spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. Its location is excellent – just a short walk from the sea and surrounded by many restaurants. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely return.

All of the stuff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lot our stay. Near old town, it’s very easy. The beach club in front of the hotel :( The music is very load. It’s not connected with hotel but for swimming it would be nice to stop there.

A true 5* hotel! Comfortable, welcoming, clean and luxurious. Breakfast was a feast of fresh, quality produce for every palate. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The best Hotel we’ve ever stayed at by a mile. Nothing

The room 306 was gorgeous. High ceilings, beautiful trim. Just fabulous. The view from the 60 foot balcony was probably the most spectacular view from any hotel I have ever seen (and I’m old!). You can tell immediately that this was the grandfather property on this beach commanding the surrounding area. For the money we should have received complimentary water each day.

Very clean and amazing staff. Breakfast was lovely each morning and the staff catered for my food intolerance which was really great. The room was a little dark and we were hoping for a better view as we had booked the ‘garden view’ but this was instead a carpark view. The pool bar was also not open which we understand was because it was not peak season but it was difficult to get a drink as no one was manning the bar inside either

All was excellent. The size of the room and the balcony, the facilities and the exceptional breakfast. The location of the hotel inside the new city, and very close to the fantastic old center.

We had a lovely weekend at Rhodes and this was definitely in part due to our stay at the Grande Albergo delle Rose. The location, ambiance and staff were absolutely top class!! A beautifully maintained historic hotel, it is strategically located at the tip of the island, it was a short walk from the historic old town and harbour. Breakfast was incredibly generous and the food on the whole was delicious, although we would've loved to have the opportunity to also taste a few greek dishes on the international menu. The hotel also laid out a nice spread of fruit, cookies, cakes, tea and coffee for guests every night till breakfast time which was a nice touch. The beach is very accessible from the property and has a nice sense of privacy and seclusion, although in early spring it was too cold to swim. The hotel also has a casino with separate access and a spa. We cannot compliment the staff enough for their professional yet extremely kind, warm and friendly demeanour - everyone right from reception to housekeeping, butlers and restaurant staff really made you feel welcome. Highly recommended if you are interested in the history and culture of the island and want to have a unique and memorable experience!
