No room for improvement! We loved everything about our stay.

The hosts were quite friendly and provided lots of info about the history of the home which was quite interesting and about local restaurants. Amazing views. Multiple comfortable options to hang out with view. Heated towels, rolling window shades felt like I was in Germany again! Tasty breakfast and attentive staff. Location to Santa Theresa shops, murals, restaurants close by. The throw rug was stained in our room &dresser drawer smelled strongly of mildew so didn’t use. Alot of rules (charges for things-pool etc.) like being at Oma’s. We could have benefited from hot tea in afternoon/evening with mugs with chilly weather and recovering from colds. Only option was to pay for espresso in styrofoam cups. No one around for planned Check out in AM- a staff tried to get us to come back and wait for desk staff but we were catching uber to airport.

I spent a magical few days here on a solo writing retreat. The view is magnificent, the rooms are lovely, and there's a gorgeous living room for guests (with an incredible view) where I spent many quiet hours writing. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. Everything is so clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. Nothing. Prior to coming here I was at a workshop and we stayed at a hotel overlooking Copacabana beach. I fell in love with a beach exercise class there, so the only downside to staying here was that I needed to take an Uber to Copacabana beach every morning to do my gym class! But that was entirely my choice. Santa Teresa is a charming area.

The view from the dining room and pool area are stunning. Breakfast is delicious and offers a very peaceful start to a busy day in Rio. Birds, flowers, charming decor, and a quiet environment offer a perfect balance to the chaos of the city!

Beautiful and clean

Classic Style. Comfortable. Enjoyable. Property was completely booked but felt private. The best support from staff on logistics and transportation Perhaps the only small complaint - if I had to dig for one- is that nearby Favella(s) late nite music was heard… But hard to complain about joyous celebration of life. I noticed it but didn’t bother me.

Everyone that worked there was very nice and helpful. Adriana was very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed about the area. Santa Teresa is historic and very cool. The house is beautiful, very well decorated and with amazing views. Lots of great places to just sit and relax. But be prepared to go up and down lots of stairs. Nothing

Clean, tastefully decorated rooms and outside area, a small but very pleasant pool which is normally just yours to enjoy with a magnificent view. Breakfast feels homemade and done with care! Only if they would allow infants so I could go back! ?

The property was genuinely so beautiful when I booked it I didn’t realize that I booked the master suite, but the views from there were incredible. I would definitely recommend. There was so much attention placed onto detail. People working at the property were so accommodating. My flight arrived early and so I had to leave my luggage which they were very accommodating about and I also left late and they were also accommodating about me storing my luggage. They also have extra services for a small fee where you can pay a shower even after you check out.

We loved everything. The room was so nice with a little balcony that looks out to sea and , as others have said, the views across the town and sugarloaf are spectacular. It is in a lovely part of the city with a very safe feeling and enough restaurants to satisfy your needs. The staff are so warm and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Breakfast is fabulous with variations every day and tables with lovely views. We had arranged to go back there for the last night of our tour and couldn’t be more delighted with that decision. Thank you so much to Stephan, Adrianna and all of the staff! Everything

Charming bed and breakfast with a kind host / owner, tons of charm and character, and a stunning view. Some of the facilities can be slightly dated, but this is a beautiful converted property, so it is part of the charm!

View was amazing. Nice quiet location. With very friendly staff.

Great location and view, excellent breakfast, homey atmosphere

The breakfast was excellent, and the breakfast room is one of the most beautiful we've ever been in in a hotel. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms are all cute and uniquely decorated, and the view of Rio from the hotel is incredible. Gertrude's is a beautiful old villa, just beware that the location is often "further away" from a lot of spots of Rio (e.g. Copacabana), but is perfectly located for seeing that part of Rio.

The B&B an d our room were both fantastic. Great view of Rio. Superb breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff. Liked everything.

Everything! The owners are super nice, the location is terrific, the B&B is so nice with tasteful decorations, our room was so clean and amazing, the bathroom was incredible, and the breakfast was outstanding! Such good food and yummy juices!!! We loved everything!

Gorgeous property with breath taking views and everything you need. Breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning. If you want the perfect mountain oasis as home base for your Rio journey look no further! They gave brilliant recommendations and there are great restaurants walking distance. Nothing everything was splendid

Great location Superb view from the dining room and the pool Superb breakfast every day Good air condition Responsive and very nice host Not dramatic (thus why I didn't ask the host to provide it), but: - Missing a stool to put the Suitcase - Missing shades to prevent mosquitos to get in when the window/door is open - Hair dryer was very weak in my room - Wardrobe doors were hard to move
-
Fantastic breakfast in a room with a breathtaking view.

A beautiful house with views of Sugar Loaf and a lovely garden. The pool was a welcome relief after hot days of sightseeing. Nothing.
