Beautiful property, great staff, and great breakfast. Loved being in this neighborhood after exploring Copacabana and Ipanema. It has a totally different feel.

Beautiful views on the city and on Santa Teresa, really comfortable and spacious bedroom, exceptional staff and delicious breakfast

Lovely quiet location where we could relax after seeing the marvels of the city. Our room was huge and the breakfast great. The staff were very friendly and even made a picknick lunch for us for when we went on a day walking tour in the Tijuca national park. Would highly recommend.

Breakfast choices are nice and delicious. View from the restaurant and pool area is great. Comfortable bed and clean rooms. Boutique refers only to the size of the hotel, but there is nothing else that you might expect from boutique hotels. Lack of attention to details, toiletries, towels, pool water cleanliness, common elements bathroom, overgrown and unattended landscaping.

They appologize with us about all the inconvenience and “gave us” for free of charge the 2 starters we had consumed in the restaurant. That’s nice they are aware about their flaws, and I hope they can correct it, but still if your Core business is hosting people and you are not doing it in the best way possible and even though you charging a high amount, something is not right! First night: about 9pm extremely loud intimate noise right outside our window (we were at Room lapa) . We complained, it continued. The receptionist later said she heard it too, yet she did not addressed it? How she knew that was me that complaint with the couple ? We asked in advance for a simple takeaway breakfast because we had an early tour. They said yes. Next Morning: nothing prepared. Staff blamed each other. Zero accountability. Housekeeping forgot shampoo and hand / floor bathroom towels every single day — we had to keep asking. Room shows poor maintenance (see photos). Reception doesn’t speak English, even though most guests are international. Extra charges for better food options on top of an already expensive stay feels unreasonable. For the same price, Casa Geranio offers far better service and standards. Definitely not worth the money. Wouldn’t stay again.

The hotel itself is a beautiful eclectic building. Rooms are nice. There is parking available in the street, it’s right in the middle of Santa Teresa but it’s sort of a gated street so they only let residents in, so you can find parking anytime on the street. You can literally take stairs to go to largo do curvelo. Staff and treatment. Roaches in the restaurant yard. Someone literally tried to enter our room while we were there. They are very rude, especially in the restaurant. The waiter ignored us when the restaurant was completely empty and chatted with another staff, and just did a hand gesture meaning to wait. There is noise, lots. It wasn’t a problem for us but beware. They also tried to charge us twice.

Great breakfast. We stay in 3 different locations in our trip to Rio. Some more expensive than this one but we liked our stay at the Castelinho best. Wish to have spent more time there. Not sure what is the name of the French manager there. This guy is super nice. Really care and helpful. Nothing

The incredible view. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The location is fabulous and the pool is a wonderful asset. The breakfast could have been better. Fresh fruit was only offered in the form of a chopped fruit salad, the juice tasted watered down, and the eggs, when ordered, were usually undercooked.

Amazing boutique hotel with a view

Having originally booked for two days, the staff helped me to extend my stay with four days so I could attend a wedding nearby. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly each day. Excellent breakfast and lovely pool. I will definitely come back when in Rio.

Modern decor, comfortable bed, nice sized room, view from breakfast area and pool The area felt dodgy, the lock on our door was broken, weird reception. We didn’t feel entirely safe. Check in was not smooth

Incredible staff, super helpful and kind! Wonderful views from the pool. great food! The location was bit secluded on a hill which made some taxi drivers refuse a ride to the hotel.

Very beaufitul hotel with new furniture. Hotel is new, have wonderful pool and perfect location. Breakfast is amazing. Views from hotel are stunning. We enjoyed it here :) Its not a minus of hotel, but I think its important to mention. We faced an issue to order a Uber to hotel from the airport. Taxi drivers were just cancelling us for 45-50mins until we were able to order one. Hotel is 100% safe district without any problems, but its on top of the hill and taxi drivers doesn't want to go there if they can get "easier" orders. So, when you will be flying here maybe ask Reception to book you a taxi in advance.

The location is perfect in Santa Teresa and the view from the terrace & pool is breathtaking. We were disappointed by the facilities - it's not super well maintained (for the price we pay) and we didn't have water for hours when we arrived (from a 13h flight). It was very difficult to communicate with the staff who does not speak a word of English. The towels at the pool also look very old and used. Not the service and comfort we expected for the price we paid. That's too bad because this place has a high potential.
