The property is in a historical building with tall ceilings. It has a nice breakfast/bar area. The breakfast was simple but enough considering the price. The stuff is attentive. The windows don’t have glass, only wooden casements, basically there is almost no noise insulation from the street. If you are a light sleeper it might be a problem. Some hangers for clothes would be nice to have.

Location of as great. It’s ok, you get what you paid. Staff very friendly. AC was good and shower good also. The room was little be dirty. Breakfast with a lot fruits and one bread, but we can ask for more if you want. Maybe a cake instead a lot of fruits. The room had a space for a chair to seat down to put and lace up the shoes. Again, you get what you paid.

The staff is so so so kind and nice, I felt like joining a family for a couple of days.

The door to my room did not close properly, so I had to barricade the door to make it secure. The room itself was very gross and in disrepair: there were several holes and stains in the walls, the toilet seat was completely worn out, several outlet covers were missing, and the air conditioning barely worked. The staff is not great either: in the morning, I nearly missed my car to the airport because the staff was away from the front desk for a long time.

The staff is really kind and helpful! Reception is 24 hours and the place is great! We stayed in room 11. We didn’t like this bedroom because it was mold and on the wall and the smell was different. But it was in this specific bedroom and the owner said that they will fix that. But in general it’s worth and I would go back next time.

Staff so welcoming and lovely, muito obrigada ! Lovely atmosphere and shabby chic decor to the place. Great location in Botafogo, restaurants, bus stops, metro at walking distance (and beaches!). Much needed AC in rooms too A little bit loud music some mornings, but also we understood that this is Carnaval times so it wasn’t too much of a surprise!

Breakfast was good and consisted of different types of fruit, bread and meat/cheese. The coffee was excellent. Casa Tuxi was very charming and well located centrally in the city of Rio, easy to access the metro, restaurants, shopping, etc. The staff were all very kind and accommodating. Being a small hotel, the noise transfer between the shared space and the room was significant, but even during Carnival, the guests were all respectful of quiet hours. The bed dipped on one side but was overall comfortable.

small hotel with a nice patio, and a tiny pool, quiet, the rooms are simple but ok. the personal is nice and very helpful. The neighbourhood is very local and relaxed. the beds need some improvement

Nothing Everything

Nothing. Everything. The reception, overall service, room cleanliness.

it’s pretty and well taken care of There is a lack of management - they charged me for consumption when the consumption was paid for. I was not refunded and I was also overcharged. And I had to go through booking.com to at least get my over payment back. It all has been very uncomfortable for me as I didn’t feel safe staying there. Not for the place itself but management is unbalanced.

Crowed place and dusty, my son couldn’t breathe and was coughing a lot after they put too much bleach I. The pool and the manager never warned us. The owner is not professional at all. I had to call the cops on her because she’s not a coherent person. She begged me to stay there and then treated us like crap. Too bad she partners with a reputable company like booking.com.
