Location, accessibility Elevator, too many mosquitos and breakfast always the same

The daily hotel breakfast (starting at 6:30am) was delicious. The shower also had great water pressure and got extremely hot. The location of the hotel is perfect too, very central in Ipanema and only 2 blocks to the beach. It was great!

This is a lovely hotel. It's very obviously OLD and a bit decadent, but it's still lovely. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and always there when you need them. The breakfast is okay. If you're trying to eat healthy, there are enough options, and the fresh fruit selection is delicious. It's clean, the bed is comfy, and it was quiet, both inside the hotel and from outside. But most of all, LOCATION. It's literally two blocks from Ipanema beach, with lots of delicious restaurant options just a 5-minute walk away. As a solo female traveler, this place definitely felt SAFE and COZY. There were A LOT of mosquitoes in the room, and I came home with lots of bites. They were also surprisingly hard to kill. It occasionally had a bad sewage odor, but this seems fairly common in many parts of Rio.

Amazing breakfast. Great location. Small bathroom. No real drawers for clothing storage.

I like everything about this hotel- from the breakfast, simple cleanliness of the rooms, the kindness and quiet professionalism of the staff, it's absolutely perfect location and that's why I have continued to go back decade after decade.

Great location and very good breakfast with a variety of fresh fruits. The room was spacious enough, and the shower was good too. The bathroom could be cleaner; tiles and grouts stained. We were on the 9th floor, but it was still noisy as the windows were single-glazed and the old-style aircon had gaps around it, so the street noise was not blocked from the room.

Fantastic location. In the heart of the Ipanema. Close to restaurants, shops and the beach. Lobby a bit small and breakfast ok, not great.

Very clean, well looked after, well situated hotel. A bit old fashioned.

The location is central. I like that the hotel is surrounded by shops, eateries and of course, just a few minutes walk from the Ipanema Beach. On my first day in the hotel, I was locked in the bathroom because the bathroom door knob was broken. In fact, I noticed that the door knob was a bit loose but when I entered the bathroom and closed the door, I couldn’t get out anymore and this was due to the malfunctioning door knob. This issue was attended to promptly by the hotel staff and gave us a different room.

Location is close to the beach We found bed bugs in our room on the second night of our stay. We had four nights booked, but since it was New Year’s Eve and the hotel was fully booked, we were forced to find alternative accommodations on our own. The hotel did not provide us with another room, and for health and safety reasons, we could not remain in the same infested room. Despite this, the hotel refused to cover the cost of the accommodations we had to book elsewhere due to the bed bug issue. They also did not fully reimburse us for the two nights we were unable to stay. We documented the infestation by taking videos of the bed bugs and even brought samples directly to the manager to prove the room was infested. This situation caused significant stress, inconvenience, and unexpected expenses. The lack of support and accountability from hotel management was extremely disappointing.

I like the location and the people who work there. They are friendly and efficient. The wifi is not strong. Sometimes I have to use 5 G to make a Zoom call.

Would stay here again for sure. Breakfast amazing a lot of variety hot and cold food. Late checking. You can leave the luggage storage after the check in. They give you towels for the beach. Everyone very friendly. Mattress very comfortable. Nothing

The location is great, and I always felt safe. Breakfast has plenty of options. The bed is very comfortable, and I generally slept well. The hotel is not cheap, and for the price that you pay, I was kind of underwhelmed by the room. The bathroom is very small with barely any room to maneuver at all. There were also a lot of flies/bugs in my room that bit me throughout the night. I killed at least five a day, but they still kept coming in somehow.

Great value for money at the perfect location!

Location was great, walking distance to Ipanema beach and walking distance to shops. It felt safe having 24/7 manned lobby who were friendly and accommodating. Decent English/ Spanish from lobby personnel. Room is on the smaller side, I was alone so was no issue, but for two people maybe tight. No view (really no problem for me personally).

The rooms were spacious and beds were fairly comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options and available nice and early. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and helped us with tours and taxis. We were facing the street which was noisy at night with some partiers outside. It was the only thing we didn’t like but we used earplugs and turned on the air con which was fine. It is a great place.

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, and the room was really clean. We found the location of the property to be amazing as it was at the center of everything and very close to the beach. The coffee was also good. Although the breakfast had a lot of dessert options, I would have liked to have more hot meals and soup. Sometimes, the food was also cold. We found the bed and pillows to be extremely uncomfortable. The air condition unit was also very noisy as if we had a motorcycle in our room all night. It was really hard to sleep.
