Casa Caminho do Corcovado - Pet friendly

When I found out this was a family-operated stay, I was immediately excited. I had read a few reviews mentioning the personalized experience, and between the location, the nearby train, the peaceful area, and how beautiful the property looked, I already felt confident about my choice. After messaging Elena on Booking.com, I could instantly tell how kind and genuine she was — even through text. That made me even more excited to arrive. From the moment I got there, I was welcomed with so much warmth, happiness, and genuine curiosity about my story and what I was doing in Rio. It didn’t feel like checking into a rental at all — it felt like visiting family. That personal connection made the stay incredibly special. Breakfast together every morning was one of the highlights. It was delicious, relaxing, and a wonderful way to start the day. The house itself felt extremely safe and secure, and the presence of the dogs added to the homey, comforting atmosphere. Overall, the experience was welcoming, peaceful, and unforgettable. If I’m ever back in Rio and traveling solo or with one other person, I will absolutely stay here again without hesitation. I honestly loved this place so much — I wish I could live there forever. If you’re visiting Rio and want a quiet, charming area away from the chaos of the party zones while still having easy access to everything, this is the perfect place to stay. I recommend it 100%. I loved everything!!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Casa Caminho do Corcovado. Helena is a lovely host and her home is a beautiful and tranquil place to escape the sometimes intense energy of the city. The breakfasts she made were very tasty and I also recommend Diogo’s tour of the town. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Rio and I learned a lot from him. To find the entrance to Casa Caminho, you have to cross the tram tracks. It is a steep climb from the station but Uber taxis are easy to use and there always seems to be one close by. I am glad I stayed at Casa Caminho do Corcovado. It was a great introduction to my ongoing travels in South America!

-such a beautiful hidden gem in the city, an oasis of silence and a spectacular view both day and night -the garden and the house are beautiful -Helena is very friendly and very welcoming -the breakfast was amazing!! I would recommend booking it -Location is very central, easy to get anywhere -nothing :)

The breakfast was fresh, healthy and delicious. Diogo was an excellent guide, he was a great historian of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil in general, and he ensured I was very comfortable.

Everything about this property is a dream! I feel so lucky that I happened to stumble upon this place at the last minute, it’s truly magical. Pictures do not do it justice!! I was worried coming to Rio alone not knowing where to stay and coming here as my first stop started my trip on the best note. The bungalow and house is decorated tastefully and the property feels tucked away in the jungle despite being so close to Rio. But the best part of my whole stay is Helena the host, she is the sweetest and made me feel so at home like the Brazilian grandmother I never had. Thank you thank you!! Nothing, the location is bit off the main road but I had no problem with uber or taxis

Meeting Helena and Diogo was a treat. Their home is stunning, so welcoming and peaceful within nature. Our chalet was separate from the house and like a little retreat. Fantastic location. Cozy, charming comfortable house. The breakfast was plenty and fresh.

Our hosts Helena and Diogo were wonderful kind caring and helpful . We felt welcome, we felt at home and we felt safe. Our bedroom was spacious as was our bathroom. We had access to the first floor of the house so we didn’t feel confined. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful Enjoyed the property however as other reviewers have mentioned it is on top of a very steep hill. The road up to the property is partially cobblestone and partially pavement.

The breakfast is not like any other. It is a breakfast for a "king". I felt I was treated like a royal family. Anybody will certainly enjoy it and appreciate what Helena is doing.

Behavior, polucy, view and clean and near to metro estação

The breakfast was above and beyond what we expected. Our fabulous host made delicious eggs and the coffee, fruit, and pastries were a fabulous start to our day. Our host made certain we had all the information needed to enjoy our day. We met amazing guests from Belgium during our stay and they taught us all about beer glass etiquette ? Diogo was about the kindest, most supportive host you could ask for and the location is convenient to the Christ the Redeemer train station, walk 3 minutes. You can even see the statue from the property. Our host also not only set up our 4am ride to the airport, he woke up with us to make sure we got off ok, and did the same the day prior for our daughter. We loved his friendly dog Jeorge. ♥️ Loved everything but could be tough if you have a difficult time walking as it’s at the top of a hill.

The host was amazing!!! And we loved the location. Breakfast was well beyond continental. It was a spectacular breakfast allowing us to start our day. We met another lovely couple from Belgium. Our host gave us fabulous tips for navigating the area. Our daughter and her beau had a very early flight and he arranged transportation and woke with them at 4am to see all went smooth, and then did the same for me and my husband the next day. Such a convenient location to go up the Christ the Redeemer tram one block away. Also, you can see the statue from our hotel in the front yard. Also saw Toucans right on the same street. Very little that wasn't wonderful, but if you have problems walking up hills or stairs this may not be the place for you.

It is near the rail line for Tijuca in a reserve close to the redeemer. Great breakfast, Helena was friendly and accommodating. We were given a personal tour - it was so good to see the city that way. The monkeys were swinging around having fun with the dog. Peaceful and safe. I recommend it 100% The hills are always a small challenge yet it is worth going back. The lock on the door entrance needs to be fixed.

Excellent location to visit Christ the Redeemer, less than 10 min walk. Helena gave us dinner suggestions, with in walking distance. Breakfast was plentiful and has something for everyone. The bungalow was quiet, bed and linens were great. Plenty of hot water. Property is beautiful, like staying in a garden.
