Room 602 needs a new mattress. Stained, lumpy. Single sheet was on the bed. Not fitted to remain in place as you slept. Kitchen is understaffed.

Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of food, fruit, and drinks. The staff's service was outstanding; they were very friendly and attentive, making our stay enjoyable. Best of all was the location—close to everything in a quiet and safe area. We arrived around midnight and were given a room on the 12th floor, which looked newly renovated. Unfortunately, the bed was a double, and my friend and I had booked single beds. We called to ask if it was possible to have the beds separated, which is usually possible, but in this case, they moved us to the 8th floor to a room like the ones in the property photos and told us that the type of room they initially gave us didn't have separate beds. While the room was fine—clean and had the essentials—it felt like we had ended up in a completely different hotel. They of course asked us if we were fine with the new room, which we agreed, but not being able to separate the beds of the first room was a disappointment. Also, no sure why, the Wi-fi in the room didn't work, even when they changed the general one to another one. In the common areas the wi-fi was very slow. Another thing we didn't like was that they charged us for storing our luggage before going to the airport; this service is free in almost all hotels. Additionally, one night, it seemed they had applied paint or some other strong chemical, and the smell permeated the entire room. We woke up with sore throats and noses because of it. Finally, one of the elevators was under repair for 3 out of the 4 days of our stay, which made getting to the rooms somewhat delayed, as the capacity of the others was quite limited.

Breakfast was great (Brazilian hotels do have good breakfast in general, but I appreciated all the fruits), location can't be better (Leme is IMHO the best neighborhood in the city), their water pressure is phenomenal, staff is very pleasant and do their best. Our room was spacious (chose based on that), bed and pillows were very comfortable, ac worked very well and wasn't noisy. Having a balcony (also a choice) was nice. No more than one elevator working at any given time (there are 3), which makes it nearly impossible to catch one to go down in the morning and long waits to go up; no place to rinse off feet coming from the beach (a sin for someone from Rio, made worse by the fact that the rooms are not swept every day); very old wardrobe with no drawers and only two hangers; only one chair in a large room; no soap bar replenishing (I had to ask for some); TV not connected to the internet (what's up with that??); iffy wifi that went down sometimes (if briefly) and was never very strong (certainly related to the not connected TVs); TV channels only in Portuguese; pieces of stucco missing in balcony, door paint peeling, and overall interior looking very, very tired (except for the lobby); stairs not swept and accumulating dust and debris from construction and from constant use.

Location was terrific King balcony room was old and needed work. We were told it was going to be renovated. Linens were worn and dingy. Mattresses were old and saggy. No bedside lamps. Cracked windows. 2 of the 3 elevators were out of service part of our stay..

Distance to Copacabana beach Not really good condition, did not look clean. Stuff was broken, ordered 3 rooms, one room had window broken. Other rooms had issue with other stuff..

Public Spaces and daily breakfast was nice. Rooms were outdated and did not have room enough to open our luggage in the space. Toilet was difficult to sit on because it was too close to the wall, which was annoying. The noise from unplanned construction and trouble caused by only having use of one of three elevators made me disappointed to make the booking at this hotel Rooms were outdated and did not have room enough to open our luggage in the space. The WiFi didn’t work in the room, the bed didn’t have a fitted sheet, the towels smelled terrible even after getting new ones, the booking system said they would have parking included - but they did not. The outlet kept doing humming noises every time we turned the light on.

Regency staff was very helpful to us and the location was excellent Unfortunately they are going through some type of remodeling and that may represent a problem to some customers.

I would rightly recommend this place. I’m getting married in Rio next year and we are already telling our guests to stay with you guys Breakfast was amazing.

The rooms were renovated and very comfy and clean. The breakfast was excelllent. The hotel is only one block away from the beach and has many restaurants nearby. While we stayed, they were doing some refurbishing in other floors so there was some noise early in the morning and dust. Other than that the hotel was great

Location They said they upgraded our stay but they gave same kinda room but moved us to top floor where they are doing construction. I don’t mind moving if they ask but lying about upgrading and sent to newly constructed floor where I had to carry the luggage for 1 floor along with all the noise and smell Also there is no parking which is major inconvenience But overall it was a good stay
