Unbelievable breakfast

Lovely fires, very traditional. Excellent bar and very comfortable surroundings. If you like old traditional pubs, you will love the fireplaces and beams. Situated in a picturesque village. There was nothing I didn’t like.

The food was Michelin star standard. The host, Matt was superb - nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely village with 2 great pubs. Bed was really comfy and had clean crisp white linen. Great bar. Food was good. Good location for Studly Royal and local towns. Staff very friendly. Rooms were a bit date and in need of refurbishment. Our room not very clean, shower screens needed a clean and dirty hand marks around doors. No TV in room. Slightly strange menu, only 2 dishes to my taste but what i had was delicious.

Excellent food - we had dinner and breakfast. We were contacted before arrival to see if we wanted a table for dinner, which was appreciated. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Room was comfortable and there was ample parking. there are donkeys over the road. The donkeys walked away before we could go and see them.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming and our dogs were included in that. Everything was done to make things easy for us. The food was fantastic, and we ate in the bar area so the dogs could stay with us, but it was so nice in there that it was still a special meal. Breakfast was lovely and we will happily stay there again even without the dogs. It will be a good base to visit the surrounding areas Nothing we didn't like

Very friendly staff, food was fantastic, had such a good evening meal we couldnt eat a breakfast so they very kindly made us bacon sandwiches to go. Which came out of the kitchen wrapped as swans. Would highly recommend. Definitely stay again

The situation at the crossroads of an interesting small village was pleasant. The dinner was good. The room was small, overfurnished and had a depressing outlook over an untidy yard. The access was through the pub, which was tiresome to navigate every time something had to be fetched from the car. Breakfast was focussed too much on the cooked side, and lacked interesting uncooked options.
