Everything about our visit was good to very good, food accommodation and staff. The prices were reasonable Beer at well under £5 per pint and a very friendly atmosphere to drink it in. The food was "Rustic" but reasonable priced and well served. The popularity of the Inn was testament to the quality. All was good I would not change anything, with the slight exception of the shower, it was a little lacking in volume and temperature not enough to freeze but not ideal.

Lovely old inn/pub. Every employee we encountered was kind and welcoming . Nice pub with good food and beer.

Lovely location on the River Ure. Managed to spot kingfishers in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and the room very comfortable. This is what I call a 'proper pub' with decent beer. We also had a very nice small meal in the evening - we had had a big lunch - the homemade soup was great. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The shower water pressure was a little weak

The community feel of the pub, the excellent dinner and breakfast. The village is very picturesque and a lot of history. No

The rooms were above the local, popular pub. The back lawn and seating stretched down to a river and a bridge. It was picturesque and wonderful for an afternoon drink. Our room had a four poster bed and a river view. We booked for dinner and were pleased with the varied menu. A cooked breakfast to order was included in the price of the room.

Comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Good value. I wasn't informed in advance that food service closed at 7 pm (maybe only on Bank Holidays?).

Breakfast was 10/10 served between 8.30 and 9.30 am selection of cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit .cooked breakfast is ordered the evening before via a order form and you choose your time Room was clean, traditional and very comfortable we stayed in room 5 which is a pet friendly double room overlooking the garden and the river. Tea making facilities .towels and toiletries available. The bar is pet friendly and very popular, and there are lots of friendly people and dogs. Table reserved for us at a time of our choosing for evening meal .ingredients are locally sourced and cooked beautifully. Lovely garden area all pet and child friendly overlooking the river ure. Staff are very friendly and nothing is any trouble . Set in a lovely well kept little village just over 5 miles from ripon this hotel is a gem . We will definitely be back .

A very warm welcome to all from all the hardworking and friendly staff. Rooms quirky, clean and comfortable above the lovely pub. Being dog friendly is a big plus for us too. Great atmosphere in the pub with locals and visitors alike enjoying the good beer (and other drinks) and the beautiful food served in the bar and lovely garden areas which overlook the river Ure. Breakfast again really tasty and good quality. Have been several times and never disappointed. A little gem. Nothing to dislike here for us.

Breakfast was good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Location perfect for my needs, view from the room lovely Room wasn't very clean, dust trailers from the ceiling. Shower was weak, bathroom spartan. Worst was the constant drip drip of water, just the other side of the wall from the headboard. ALL NIGHT. As I had an early start and long drive the next day this sleepless night was just dreadful. It wasn't just rain dripping but a leak. I wrote to the hotel but got no response so here we are. I thought that the upgrade at an extra £40 per night would be a 'treat' - how wrong I was.
