Hotel Locarno

The staff at this hotel were so wonderful and kind. The breakfast was lovely and the entire hotel was so charming. Our room was comfortable and the crib was perfect for my 2 year old. Everything was wonderful and when back in Rome I will for sure stay here again. Everything was so great. We don't have any complaints at all.

Pulling up to Hotel Locarno in our cab excited me! Such a perfect location near Borghese Gardens and Piazza Popoli, and maybe too close to high end shops we were drawn to. The front desk staff greeted us with genuine warmth and informed us we had received a room upgrade. Our bags were quickly moved to our rooms and waiting for us after speedy check-in. Hotel Locarno is classy with a distinct character not found in other hotels. The rooms were designed and furnished to remind guests the special history Hotel Locarno has. Breakfasts, made to your tastes, were amazing. And the servers were the friendliest, tolerating our English only language with big smiles. Charming pubic spaces are inviting. We chose one to play a game of Hearts. The front desk arranged our many taxi rides and generously gifted us one of their tasty anniversary rum cocktails-try one! Hotel Locarno works hard to satisfy your every need and is the reason we will return to Rome. Thank you Hotel Locarno! Loved it all!

The room was wonderful! The bathroom was luxurious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were helpful and facilitated easy access to everything. The cleaning staff were efficient and professional. Taking a shower was a bit more tricky as the shower head is dead center of the tub, right at the spot where the shower doors open so water tended to spill onto the floor. The food menu was OK.

Lovely hotel with wonderful helpful staff in a perfect location. The restaurant has wonderful food and cocktails.

Old-world grand, relaxed but luxurious. All the staff, without exception were exceptional, they couldn’t have been more welcoming, attentive and helpful. Breakfasts are fabulous.

I used booking.com and was not happy with the experience and lack of response to emails. I would never book this property again with booking.com. I would go direct to the property. The experience would have been much better

Gorgeous hotel with the most helpful and friendly staff!

Absolutely perfect location, with a wonderful staff who caters to your every need. The decor is very classic, may not appeal to everyone. But we love it!

Staff and restaurant were great rooms could have had more modern conveniences like somewhere to put away clothes, cosmetics etc. A dressor.

The service at breakfast time excellent very nice people. The food was high quality. The bar tenders were very dedicated to the confection of your drinks. Flawless no complaints

THE AIR CONDITIONING WASN'T WORKING, HAD TO CHANGE ROOME; THE SHOWER AND SINK DRAIMNS WERE CLOGGED, 3 TO 4 INCHES OF WATER IN SHOWER. BREAKFAST WEAK STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND TRIED TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS. BREAKFAST HAD POOR AND MEAGER SELECTIONS

The breakfast was amazing with many cook to order options! The seating is outside in a beautiful courtyard…so elegant or you can eat indoors, Nothing could have made our stay better. The hotel is amazing and in a wonderful location, but the best part was the staff! They spoiled us and couldn’t do more to make us feel comfortable and welcomed!

Hotel graciously accommodated our request for rooms nearby each other and our kids were in the room right next to us. Beautifully decorated rooms are pristine with comfortable seating and immaculate bed & bedding. Our deluxe room overlooked the main street but was not noisy at all and we slept very well. The kids' classic room was smaller but equally as comfortable & the bathroom had beautiful claw foot tub. What sets this hotel apart from other hotels of a similar caliber where we've stayed is not only the unique history but the outstanding bar/restaurant and friendly helpful staff. After check in, we had excellent cocktails in the beautiful courtyard along with some delicious snacks. The cocktails came with pretty watercolour bookmarks marking the 100th year of the hotel. As an avid reader -- of books, not devices -- I'm still using mine and stole the ones given to my family as they will not use. Breakfast is fab, made to order and will accommodate requests whenever possible. We normally try to eat all meals except breakfast outside of hotels but the setting & food here is so lovely, we had the most delicious lunch on our last day. It was also wonderful to see the restaurant/bar is well used by Romans and be surrounded by locals not only tourists. The rooftop bar was not open during our stay -- maybe due to the heat? -- so we did have the opportunity to check it out. Location is great - we could walk to all of the main tourist areas and it is well situated to visit the Vatican. My travel companions (lapsed Catholics & non Catholic) were skeptical, esp as our tour was 8 am to avoid crowds (still crowded but not unbearable and no waiting) but it is truly magnificent/well worth a visit, even the skeptics agreed. Finally all the staff here are all incredibly friendly and gracious. Service in all areas of the hotel from room turn down to the front desk is excellent. A special thank you to David at the front desk and Riccardo! Wish the rooftop bar had been open while we were there.

The room had no blackout curtains. Literally the only thing that could be better

Best customer service experience I've ever had in my life, huge beautiful room, AC and WiFi work perfectly, amazing attentive concierge, great breakfast, delicious martinis. Perfect place to retreat to on a hot summer day in Rome. The entire experience was exquisite, however they do not have an iron to lend you so you must pay 60 euro to send off 5 items and wait 10 hours to retrieve them.
