Hotel Villafranca

We would happily stay at this property during our next (and preferably longer) visit to Rome. Breakfast was superb! A wide range of continental and "proper" breakfast was available for most of the morning. A wide variety of beverages and custom coffee was also available. The superb location is about 100 meters from a subway station, which enabled ready access to the rest of the city, and about a 5' trip to the Collosseum. We also walked to the Termini station (less than 10 minutes). Climate control worked well, and the rooms were suitable for our party. The elevators provided prompt service, which we very much appreciated. It was a very nice touch for the hotel to provide complementary toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers. The queen bed in our room was firmer than we like, and the blankets were thinner than we prefer. The single bed in our room and the queen bed in the second room were fully satisfactory. As complaints go, I regard this as quite minor.

Very nice staff. Clean, modern facilities. Convenient and safe location.

Breakfast was from 7-10 AM (bigger window than most other hotels I've stayed at) and was quite good. Location is great by being near two metro stations (Roma Termini and Castro Pretorio) and various bus stops so I had no trouble getting around Rome. There are also lots of restaurants nearby that are within walking distance. The staff were all very nice and friendly and I had a smooth check-in and check-out experience. The bed was comfortable and the AC was easy to operate. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and I don't really have any major complaints. Thanks for the hospitality! I don't have any major complaints but some things I personally noted was that my room was very small and I just don't see how this is a 4-star hotel. It was quite expensive but the hotel didn't really deliver on the 4-star label. Could just be me though, I had a pleasant stay overall.

Breakfast has enough variety of food to choose from. Room is clean and comfortable. Staff helpful to get my brother and his wife transfer rooms during stay. Hotel is further down from Roma Termini, which is still OK now. But it may be a too long walk when we get older into our 70s.

Bathroom was very uncomfortable and tiny, no ventilation, no space

I loved location… easy walk to the center of the Rome Very outdated rooms. Uncomfortable bathtub that u have to climb in. Very hard mattresses and pillows

The receptionist was unprofessional. We simply asked to split the total city tax amount between two people, but they couldn’t understand the request. When we asked again, the older receptionist raised her voice at us. After we finally finished the check-in, she told the next guest, “Sorry, it was a complicated check-in, which was honestly surprising. ?

Location Staff

We loved the location and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel met all our needs. We did have a bit of trouble figuring out the air conditioner at first, but once it was working, everything was great. Honestly, there wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The breakfast was exceptionally good—definitely a highlight of our stay! I guess just the air conditioner, but like I said, once we figured it out, it was fine.

Low beds! Shower fixtures were broken. That can be easily addressed.

Too far from where I wanted to go and lyft and taxis were pricey. Also no restaurant for lunch or dinner in hotel.
