De Achterdiek is by far the best Bed & Breakfast I have ever stayed at! The rooms are spacious and cozy, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you might need. The owners are lovely and super welcoming, they gave us a tour of everything right upon arrival and made us feel right at home. The place is idyllic and quiet, and there are a lot of adorable animals around the home. You definitely have to try the breakfast - it's incredibly delicious and offers everything from coffee and juice to eggs and a variety of bread. Everything is made with love and you can tell that they put a lot of effort in every detail. Everything is perfect and it will make you want to stay as long as possible. Thank you for having us, we loved to stay with you and will definitely come back! We loved everything, our stay was nothing short of amazing!

Beautiful and relaxing room with a sauna for two and a huge jacuzzi. The hosts were very kind and helpful and the breakfasts they made for us were varied and delicious.

Quiet place, cross section of walking and cycling routes; the owners live right next door, and are extremely friendly, and hospitable Nothing to not like, one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed at many places all over the world.

Great breakfast, very calm place. We went there for the "Dwingeloo oogst feest" and it was really worthy. Nice encounter with Henk and Sonja. Very recommendable.

The owner of the B&B is very sympatical family, you can speak with them as friends. The lady have made brilliant breakfasts prior to our wishes and allergies, served to the room or at the terrace. They have dogs, cats and hens, you feel like at home at the superb cottage. We did not have time to use the sauna (it is in the garden of the accomodation), but there was no problem to prepare it even for the evening. Our kids loved the garden, we could play games on the terrace, petangue, frisbee in the garden. The room was nicely equipped, we liked a hanging chair the most. Countryside in the surrounding is awesome. You can go cyckling to the Nationalpark Dwingelderweld. Or you can just walk and see typical beautiful country architecture with landscaped gardens. You can buy homemade jam, fruit, vegatable, even ice-cream in the surrounding. There are small stalls where you just take what you want and leave money. What a energy charging confidence in humanity. We have gotten from the lady several tips for perfect restaurants, we loved especially The Luning Restaurant in Ruinen. Those tips you can find on the website of the accomodation as well. This accomodation is relatively close (by car) to the dutch Venezia Giethorrn, that we have visited too. There is also second Nationalpark nearby. If you like countryside, divine silence and delicious dining (by the way for a very good price), we can really recommend this.

Lovely room with trendy furniture pieces (my daughter fell in live with the swing) and decorative items. Lots of light from windows facing 3 sides of the building, nice kitchenette and quite spacious bathroom with a big bathtub. Breakfast was very complete and diverse. The owners were very welcoming and helpful during the entire stay. -
