Red Roof Inn PLUS+ St Augustine

I have stayed at several hotels and one really close by to this one & I must say that my stay last night was by far the worst experience I have ever had. First of all I did not get ANY SLEEP due to the bed being hard as a rock and so all I did was toss and turn and couldn’t get comfortable and that was the whole point of renting the room so I’m upset. I’m exhausted and have a long drive/busy day today & I wish I would’ve spent a little more and stayed any where but here. They list that there is a pool here however it’s closed in the brutal hot summer in Florida and that’s ridiculous! The grass was so tall and there is fire ants every where to the point my small dog didn’t even want to walk in grass and there was no area to let my dog run and play without being on leash with me so I got no break while here. It was SO NOISY THROUGHOUT The night and morning!! & the ice machine is all the way up on second floor so therefore I had to walk all the way to top far back corner & then the machine barely gave me any ice. I’m going through a hard time and customer service was just ehhh compared to the amazing service I have received elsewheee. Will never stay here again and now I will be more careful before booking somewhere so don’t believe good reviews or reviews stating good things because they could be lies. I would have rather have stayed in my car or spent $10 more somewhere else where it’s comfortable and I could’ve slept.

Unable to get the TV to work with attempts of resetting. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Thankfully it was just a stop to sleep onto the next destination.

Disappointing

The best part of our visit was our hotel room. It was nice and everything worked. You could see areas where the floor was not the cleanest, in corners etc but for the most part it was in decent condition, The bath tub was clean and most other areas. Maintenance however seemed to be poor, their was a ring around the main entrance switch where the painter just left it and other things that seemed to be half way done. The ice maker was missing, and the stairs and outer areas were not clean and needed to be painted. Just small efforts would make a big difference in the outer grounds. One person was singing in the parking lot. Our main complaint was there were people hanging around the parking area all night long, some coming and going. Also a pathway through the weeds at the rear corner of the parking lot where people were walking to a nearby property. These things bring only one conclusion to my mind but hopefully I am wrong.

There was not much to say in a positive light other than the front desk gal was kind.. Oh, and there was at least a Cracker Barrel for breakfast just behind the establishment. The rooms are old, dirty, and outdated. The pillows were small and uncomfortable, the linens had stains. There were stains and splatters all over different surfaces including the walls, ceilings, and toilet, as well as rust in various places. The room had an old musty smell. The furniture surfaces were worn and peeling, the paint was chipping, the water pressure was AWFUL. You could barely get enough to rinse off the soap, and the tub did not drain while showering so you were standing in your own dirty water. Got ready to go for a swim..'pool is out of order" I was told. Guess online instructions need updated! I was not happy. "What time is breakfast I ask"... 'We don't serve breakfast anymore." Seriously? Struggled to get the door open each time as the door sensors are permanently confused. This place was barely inhabitable. They call this ''Red Roof PLUS+'....Plus what exactly? "Four walls and a marginally comfortable bed?" If that was the honest tagline for the establishment, that would be the most accurate. This place needs one of those reality shows where they come remodel..or just hire a demolition crew and start over to be fair.

Everything was dirty, old, and poorly maintained. The air conditioner barely cooled the room. The front desk staff changed our room, but unfortunately, the overall condition of the hotel was still very disappointing. The property looked very different from the photos shown on Expedia, which was extremely misleading.

Very good

Well for starters, me and my boyfriend arrived on time to check in. Check in was at 3:00, we arrived at about 2:50. We had to wait for an additional 30 minutes to almost an hour past 3:00 for a room! I even had a reservation so I didn’t understand the reasoning for the hold up. The woman at the desk could’ve been a little nicer than she was. She definitely was a little rude and had a nasty attitude with her tone and the way she spoke to us and even others. The room itself was pretty decent, it was clean for the most part. The floor could’ve been swept better, and the toilet was terrible. It clogged very easily! Outside of the room was a different story! Everytime that me and my boyfriend would exit the room, we’d smell nothing BUT smoke. There’s lots of people sitting around on the ground outside of rooms or on the stairs. There were multiple times throughout the morning where we were woken up by loud noise from water shooting at our window as if it were being sprayed with a hose, or people talking LOUD. Not to mention the pool being out of order!

Do yourself a favor and don’t try to save the 50 bucks by staying here, it’s not worth it.
