The hotel is falling apart the rooms very very old and dark. I had to find another hotel

Hotel undergoing a renovation which wasn’t revealed until after completing reservation. This is the second time this type of thing has happened when booking through Expedia. We should have been given the option of canceling when we received the message from the hotel. This is not the fault of the hotel. It is something that Expedia should do better at moving forward.

room was not clean, tv did not work, very disappointed

Our first room had a toilet that didn’t work, so we had to move to another room. Unfortunately, the second room had hair by the sink and didn’t feel properly cleaned. Overall, the rooms felt a bit dirty. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which may have contributed to the experience. On a positive note, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful both when we checked in and checked out. However, there are definitely better hotel options in the area.

When we arrived and went to the lobby we could see they were under construction. Check in was great. Front desk was very nice. When we got to our floor the halls were a total construction zone. When we walked in our room first thing I noticed was the mirrors were not clean and the floors look like they had been stripped. Definitely did not look like the photos on the website. The chairs in the room were very dirty looking. The toilet barely flushed. No way was I staying there. Front desk was extremely helpful in refunding us. Maybe once the renovation is complete it will be cleaner but for now, it’s a hard pass.

Our August 2026 stay at Ocean Inn & Suites was supposed to be simple: two people, three days, two nights. We called ahead about arriving around 9–10 PM and were assured someone was at the front desk 24/7. We arrived to parking areas filled with construction materials and an empty lobby. We rang the bell repeatedly, waited, and even called the hotel while standing at the desk, hearing the phone ring unanswered. After nearly 25–30 minutes searching for someone, I found the employee outside on a balcony smoking and playing games on his phone. He apologized and mentioned his mother was having surgery the next day, but smelled strongly of what appeared to be marijuana. The card reader wasn’t working, so our credit card information had to be manually taken, which made me uncomfortable given the circumstances. The hotel is also undergoing a MUCH heavier renovation than expected. Signs said renovations would end May 31, yet construction was still extensive in August. There was noise, debris and construction materials throughout. Our room had bottle caps/debris on the floor, a non-functioning refrigerator and holes/unfinished areas in the walls. We understand renovations happen, but this property does not seem ready to operate normally during this level of construction. We weren’t expecting luxury—just a clean, functional room and basic service. Unfortunately, even those basics were missing.

It’s an older motel and it shows but it is being renovated so that is a plus. The pool was right below our balcony. Parking is under the hotel and not many spaces. Unless you have a compact car, you probably aren’t parking there. There is public parking across the street. .. but not always close. Everything is within walking distance so that is a plus! If the tide is out, you can walk a short distance and be on the beach. Wouldn’t recommend swimming there, but certainly good for just a leisurely walk. The mirrors and balcony doors could have been washed a little better. the bathroom light was not bright so had to leave the connecting door open to be able to see while showering. The shower would squeal for just a bit when first started but then would stop. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioner worked great! We didn’t eat breakfast so I can’t comment on that. Overall I would certainly stay here again

Do NOT visit this property. It is dirty, not maintained, broken down. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I was greeted by ants on the bed, roaches in the bathroom, a tv that didn’t work to name a few. I only stayed one night and that was enough…there are plenty of places on island to stay. Anyone of the others would be better than this.

Excellent hotel and staff. Highly recommend.

Nice, near ocean!

The staff were helpful the area is beautiful. The pool and outside area is wondrfuk The distance to the ocean and world class dining is amazing. However this location is under serious renovation and they don’t tell you that online. It was dirty and dusty due to the renovation. Overall the property is very dated and the renovation is welcome. Over priced in its current state.

They are in the middle of a renovation so it's noisy which is understandable. However, upon check in the room was dirty. I mean dirty. Hair in between the pillow and pillowcase. Mattress was stained and nasty. We had one of each towel in the room. The towels we did have were dirty. No kleenex, fridge was dirty, carts of trash left in the hall, and no parking. Staff is mostly unfriendly never looking up from their phones to greet you. No maintenance on staff or only on certain days. We had also booked a room with a balcony view. We got a view of a dumpster.The pool is nice but not maintained daily. It is close to the lighthouse, pier, and shopping square which is nice. Hopefully with the new renovation they will also obtain new leadership. However, with that said we will not return to find out. This property is very misrepresented on expedia.

The room was very dirty,after having a shower we walked across floor and found our feet were filthy from dirt on the floor. We told reception when we checked and and were told it was due to the hotel currently undergoing renovation, but the filth in the corners of the room was from long term accumulation not just building dust.

Clean room. Nice traditional wood furniture. Good marble design of sink countertop and bathroom walls. Window curtain with nostalgia material and design. Comfortable bed. Nice wood TV cabinet and TV set.

Hotel was quaint, but going through a reno and rooms were clean but tired. I look forward to trying again after renovations are complete.

The complex is under construction so it had everything that went with that, but it was tolerable. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. All in all the stay was nice. However, after checkout, I noticed a charge on my account. When I called to inquire, they said it was due to a mattress soaked in urine. This was absolutely appalling to me, seeing how it was 2 adults and 2 teenagers. I always toss the beds when we check out of a hotel to make sure we aren't leaving anything behind, and I would've noticed such a thing. They were insistent and I'm extremely disappointed how it was handled. We travel quite a bit and have never had issues, even when my kids were babies and toddlers. When we checked out, the lady told us they were redoing the hotel to appeal more to couples and adults. So be cautious and aware of you have children.

This is a tired older property currently being renovated. Looks better in the listing pictures than in reality. Worn out sheets and towels. No maid service on our second day of a two day stay. Rooms floors were filthy. Pictures shows a towel I used for a quick foot mop. “Island view” from our “balcony” was of a construction dumpster. Hopefully the property will improve after renovations.
