Holiday Inn Express Salado-Belton by IHG

Drinks snacks seem to be hidden not obvious

No notification from desk staff that there would be a $4.99/day fee added as "Greener Stay - Service Stay" fee (apparently mandated by IHG). Also, the hotel does not provide daily cleaning services unless specifically asked for at check-in. There was a sign posted at the front desk eluding to this, but nothing about the IHG fee, which apparently happens whether or not you request room cleaning. The property should either train desk staff to inform guests or post signage that extra fees will be assessed. Wasn't expecting a lot from a limited service property, but did expect the basics from a Holiday Inn brand.

Overall, great stay. Location is outstanding and staff was extremely helpful. The staff were some of the best and most helpful that I have ever encountered in my many travels. Outstanding!

The property was close to my home and convenient at the time. (Jun 15, 2026 was the date of my stay) No. The person at the front counter was a bit curt and rude. I purchased the room through Booking.com, paid with the exact same card I have used at several other properties and bookings. When I get there she wanted another card to pay with, as I was paying with Chime Bank and they’ve had issues with refunds through Chime. I informed her I wasn’t sure how to proceed as that and my credit card was through the same bank. I didn’t have another card. She rolled her eyes and said she wasn’t sure she could proceed with the booking. I was trying to use a Visa. My home was unsafe as there was someone staying there who has assaulted me and committed domestic violence against myself and my son. I left to avoid any issues and stay at a local hotel. This woman was about to cancel my entire reservation because she thought my bank was ‘inconvenient’ if I chose to ask for a refund in the future. Essentially, to same my reservation, I had to promise I wouldn’t request a refund. What kind of policy is this? I paid with a visa. I had plenty of money, the app had approved and collected my payment. There was a physical safety issue preventing me from going home. I will never choose to stay there again. I had been crying for hours dealing with the entire family situation, and after this woman made me feel small and uncomfortable, I continued crying over the stress of the situation in my room. So I paid $140 for a single night in a local 3 star hotel, only to be spoken to disrespectfully and made to feel small and insignificant because of THE BANK MY DEBIT AND CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT was from. Not that I didn’t have money, not that I was rude to her, or caused any issues in the hotel. I wasn’t disrupting anyone. I was quietly stepping away from an unsafe and stressful legal situation for a brief reprieve. So yes. That was my experience. I’ll never stay there again and it’s less than 10 miles from my home.
