Salt Lake City Marriott University Park

Very close to University of Utah and short drive to downtown. Safe neighborhood. Hotel amenities were limited.

Great property. Wasn’t as close to the campus as we thought or public transportation. Ended up doing Ubers because of the location and heat.

Clean room and property

Fast efficient service I wasn't impacted but many guests had AC issues. It's apparently a chronic issue as the property has many room fans to mitigate. Several peers had to wait for room fans to check in

Room was clean and comfortable.

Beautifully redone, friendly and helpful staff, very clean The water did not get hot at either the bathroom sink or shower.

Close to University of Utah

Hotel was great but the couch and chairs in the suite were very hard and uncomfortable. We were there needing a separate seating room to relax away from someone sleeping and it was very uncomfortable. The bed was also too stiff for me and I had a hard time sleeping.

This was by far the worst experience we've ever had. I've been an Expedia platinum member for years and while Expedia was helpful, the Salt Lake City Marriott University Park was the worst service ever. They overbooked the hotel but kept telling us that the guests who stayed in our room had a late check-out so the room wasn't ready. Due to the overbooking of the hotel, the lobby was full of guests in our same boat. We waited for 2.5 hours for our room and that was after us asking 10+ times about the room. Meanwhile, we had an event to get to so our kids bathed in the lobby bathroom sinks and got ready (changed clothes, etc..) while we were patiently awaiting someone to tell us the truth and get our room ready. Horrible! They only offered us a $25 parking voucher for the delay. not acceptable. They also said we were at the bottom of their priority list because we booked through a 3rd party vendor (Expedia). This is the worst excuse ever and we shouldn't have been treated like 3rd class citizens because of the route in which we booked a hotel and spend $724!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!
