--The room was modern and bright, although small. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and modern. Despite the compactness, it had everything we needed --Although located away from the city centre, there was a metro station within a 5 min walk, making it easy to get to Salzburg city --Located right in front of Europark mall; great to get a coffee, for shopping etc --Friendly and helpful staff. Appreciate the complementary late checkout --A bit more variety in the restaurant menu. We were surprised there were so few local specialties We used this hotel as a base for exploring the Salzburg Province by train, and it suited our needs perfectly. However, if you intend to spend more time at the hotel relaxing rather than sightseeing, you may find the rooms on the small side.

The hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained. The facilities were of a good standard, and the room itself was comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our overall experience at The Passenger, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, was disappointing due to two significant issues. Firstly, the hotel required a security deposit upon arrival, despite the Booking.com listing clearly stating that no additional payment or security deposit was required. I raised this with Booking.com, who contacted the hotel on my behalf. However, the hotel maintained its position and did not acknowledge that the information on the listing was inconsistent with their practice. I believe hotels should honour the conditions advertised on Booking.com and be transparent about any additional charges before guests arrive. Secondly, I was travelling with my 15-year-old son, and the room we were allocated had a completely transparent bathroom, offering virtually no privacy. This was not disclosed in the room description or photos on Booking.com. When I requested an alternative room, I was told I would need to pay an additional fee. The manager handling the matter was not particularly welcoming or customer-focused, and there was little willingness to discuss possible solutions or show flexibility, even after Booking.com became involved. The hotel's location was also less convenient than expected, requiring additional travel to reach the main attractions.

The breakfast was amazing with lots of choices. It was a bit expensive for breakfast but the cost made sense with the vast array of choices. We had 2 vegan relatives with us who had plenty to choose from also. Not much to dislike. The hotel was clean and close to everything we wanted to do. I really do not have anything negative to say about the hotel.
