Good vibes and great views

The Maverick was a great little hotel in downtown San Antonio, just one block from the Riverwalk's restaurant row area! It has a great history and is decorated in such a nostalgic theme! The staff was super and helpful especially at check in as it was late! Cece(?)was a Godsend! The hotel is a little hard to find with a very small curb loading zone, and parking was around the corner at the Hilton Garden Inn. Not the most convenient or inexpensive but doable. Walking was easy to most places.

Nice!

We had a great stay there. Everything was clean, well appointed and staff was helpful and friendly. It is it a central location in downtown with lots of nightlife and restaurants very close by and your steps from the San Antonio Riverwalk.

I checked in at 1am and it took a very long time to get to my room. Once in my room, there was no water. I tried to get water from the gym but it was locked.

Make sure you use the valet parking!!
-
Rooms were well kept and clean.staff was excellent!Parking is valet only so I’d recommend you shell out for that instead of paying for a public parking space, being that it’s almost the same if not more for a regular parking fee.We didn’t stay in a suite with a balcony, but I’m sure it’s great.Walls are pretty thin along with the windows,so if you can’t stand occasional dogs barking and the outside traffic and live music from across the street, then this is not the place for you.Other than that,we enjoyed our stay!I would definitely stay there again.

Loved staying here. Perfect location and great room.

All the history & details of the building have been preserved. Oh my goodness LOVE the preserved doors, elevators & flooring. My Studio room was perfectly clean, fresh, comfortable with fridge, sink, coffee. High ceilings, large windows. Bedding soo comfortable with sound machine available if needed. I slept so well. Glass and tile shower and bathroom with good pressure and hot water. Appreciate the full length mirror, closet space. The library cocktail lounge below is a hidden gem. Easily checked out a book on “ remembering” at no cost for one month while enjoying the music and comfy couches. The riot comedy club is also a part of the same building as well as the gym. All in the basement. I wondered down to the library cocktail lounge and gazed to my left. Burst into happy tears seeing the image of one of my childhood heroes Robin Williams in rainbow suspenders smiling back at me. This comic helped shape my younger years , when he passed I was devastated. To see his smiling face resurrected in the basement of the maverick hotel shook me back into the sweet spot of my past. Thankyou for this experience. Things to note. There’s valet and a hotel clerk until around 10-11 pm. After this you will need to park at the Houston street garage for $10 or use Hilton valet next door. No keys. PIN codes instead.

This was an apartment building so the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Full kitchen, dining table. Unfortunately, this hotel is located in an area where thugs and punks drag race cars, squeal their tires and rev their motors til the wee hours of the morning. Saturday night was the worst. The police try unsuccessfully to disband them. The ear plugs and noise machine in the bedroom was a hint at the restless nights ahead.

Great find. We go to San Antonio every year, we will be staying here for now on. Great location. They have 2 actually bedrooms and a full kitchen.

Staff was very helpful. The area felt safe.

Near the riverwalk area. Cute building and rooms. Loved the subway tile and sleek look. Used the kitchen too. Had a few issues with the door combination and the internet but the staff was very responsive. Loved the quick responses to my text messages. Would recommend and would definitely stay there again. Expedia even gave me two drinks to a whisky spot. Nice surprise.
