This little gem is in the heart of little Italy right below coit tower and across the street from Washington square park. A really great location. The hotel is old but nicely maintained. Our room was clean and somewhat updated. My only complaint is San Francisco had an unusually warm day and our room was very stuffy. We turned on the ceiling fan and opened windows which really helped but it also let in all the street noises. I would 10/10 stay here again though. Such a great location.

You have to call them on the phone Bathroom accross the hall No parking They only communcate by text We had tv issues both nights we stayed No A C

- They tell you it’s a “smart” hotel, which is simply a fancy way for people not to be available when things go wrong. The communication was ridiculous. Even when they insisted daily that we download an app to check in days in advance, it never occurred to them that they’d need to provide the code to enter the front door. We received a notice that the room was ready and went there only to find it was still being cleaned. Everything on the hallway smelled awful by the way. We had to do a lot of back and forth to the hotel by then. They waited until the very last moment when our check in time was already due to say that the room was not going to be available (even after confirming minutes before that everything was ok). Disastrous communication and they didn’t even offer a compensation refund when we had to search for a last minute hotel. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemies.

Location Clearing the ‘security’. Why should I have to scan a photo of my passport when Booking.com specifically instructs users not to do that very thing!

Perfect location Pleasant Bath

In fairness, none of this is explicitly the fault of the property, but as there is no on-site staff, there was no way to seek to have the garbage crushers or noisy late night guest issue addressed.

The location is perfect! The shower was very small and it would has been nice to have a luggage stand and more hangers.

Firstly, our room was sold to us as ADA accessible, however there was no accessible route from the door of the hotel to the room. The hotel is also not staffed at any point. There were hairs under the sheet and no light shade in the bathroom. The worst part was that the door opened with an app, and there was no deadbolt or any physical way to secure the door, which felt unacceptable. I ended up pushing furniture against the door to feel safe. The hotel is sold as a ‘luxury’ feel but it is far from that. I’d never consider this hotel again, and I wouldn’t recommend that any women stay here alone.

Loved the area and the hotel blended into the San Francisco experience wonderfully. Please put the need to arrange private car parking in advance as a priority.

Excellent location. Also across the street from the best breakfast restaurant in the city. I found it absurd that there was never a human being present at all during my stay, aside from the housekeeper (who by the way only speaks Spanish; fortunately I am rusty but can communicate in Spanish myself.) I used to stay in this hotel and recommended it to friends and family when I lived on Telegraph Hill in the 1980s and 1990s. There were fewer rooms then but each was comfortably furnished and had some character. Now the rooms are smaller and spartan in furnishings, with not even a chair to sit in or a desk to write on.

Charming inn in a lovely location

I liked that I got to leave. What’s to like? No a/c. No elevator. Moldy shower. The toilet paper is John Wayne toilet paper - it’s rough, tough and it doesn’t take shit off of anyone.

Location is great No parking on site
