The staff was lovely. Buffet breakfast was convenient and tasty. Love the property and decor. We stay here every time we come to San Jose.

The property is beautiful and is located in an area that is fun to explore. My only complaint is the temperature in my room. The a/c was on but did not cool the room. I did open the windows to cool the room down and slept with the windows open. I would definitely stay here again.

Property was beautiful bery well maintained landscape

Enjoyed the history, luxury, location and amenities of this hotel. To improve check in/ out there is a need for more attentive staff. Address guests with their names, ask if they need assistance with luggage and be more attentive than simply checking in the guest and sending a text asking how they did. Simply put there needs to be more employees attentive to guests. If in the area again, I would not stay at this hotel as it needs to be more about the people, guests and staff. It may be a great place to stay however more attentive employees are necessary. Don’t skimp on the ‘ human’ relationships established at this historic location

The grounds were very pretty and the wait staff at the restaurant were helpful and pleasant. We appreciated having a parking space near our room. The front desk staff were not welcoming or gracious both when we arrived and when we left. The room was very small and dark. We got a text asking how things were and we responded that the coffee maker didn't work. No response. We called the front desk about the coffee maker and no one came to fix it. On our second day, no one came to clean our room. The only choice for breakfast was a $30/person buffet. It was way more food and way more expensive than we wanted. And there were no other choices anywhere near the hotel!

Great experience! Beautiful grounds and very friendly and helpful staff. Booked this for my mother who was attending a graduation she loved staying here and enjoyed exploring the historical features of the main house.
-
Beautiful and quiet place in the middle of the neighborhood. Unique old mansion campus nice place to relax. Did not see too many staff around except the receptionists. Self manage like your own home, walk around the park inside the campus and enjoy the quite and stillness of the property surrounding by regular homes.

The room was large but oddly laid out and sparsely furnished for the size. The lighting was dim with no option to brighten.
-
Wonderful stay at Hayes Mansion. The property is beautiful, with historic charm, well-maintained grounds, and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A unique and relaxing experience that stands out from typical hotels. I would definitely stay here again when visiting San Jose.

Historic Mansion was well preserved and restored! The pool lounge chairs were few in number (3); the one we looked at was missing screws and bolts that are required to safety sit in the chair.
-
Clean rooms. Restaurant food was disappointing.

Breakfast was delicious and the pool is heated. The room was nice and modern as well. Would definitely return

We loved the history of the mansion and the grounds. However, the staff didn't seem to be able to handle all of the guests and events happening at the same time very well. There was a wedding party at night that was so loud that my friend had to move her room after being told by staff that it would be over at 10 pm (when we got back to the hotel) then changed it to 11 pm but it was still very loud. While most of the staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast crew and setup was extremely disappointing. We only stayed one night and went to get coffee at the restaurant at 9 am and found a continental breakfast which was surprising because the website indicated a $15 charge. When we asked the staff for the price, they said it depended on our package. Okay that's fair. We tried to find a bagel, croissant or toast and there was nothing but a few scraps. We asked the staff if they would replenish them and they said "sure" then walked away and never replenished or returned. Also, the parking had alot to be desired because of the two weddings that day that were filled up with guests and caterers. We will stay somewhere else next visit.

We only stayed here 1 night, but it was a very comfortable stay. Very nice and quiet with large, comfortable rooms. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool. It was small but quiet. Did not try the restaurant but appreciated the small touches such as filtered water machines in hallway. Would stay there again!

Loved it

Hayes Mansion was a lovely stay. The property has beautiful grounds, the room was nice and it was easy access to everything local in San Jose

The property itself is nice. However I am unclear as to why my room was placed right behind a big reception hall that was so loud I finally asked to be moved. The staff gave varying information about when the event was done. I then was moved to a queen when I reserved a King. No partial refund yet. As for the breakfast what a disaster. The waiter didn’t know if we had to pay and was visibly annoyed when I asked for a croissant. The food was picked over and the area was messy and dirty. We informed the waiter we would leave. Also it’s lame you are charged for internet.
