Towneplace Suites By Marriott San Jose Downtown

Let me just start off with saying this place was absolutely gorgeous! Only issue we had was wifi. We could not get it to work in our room which was on the 7th floor. For our xboxes or our phones. Staff tried to be helpful but noone seemed to know what to do and maintenance never showed up. Loved the room though it was so comfy and those beds were amazing! That was my only complaint. Other than that would 100% recommend.

Looked and felt clean at first. Great female receptionists going the extra step recommending restaurants, making one feel welcomed, male receptionist was satisfactory. Parking indoors and easy. Plenty of hot water from shower Bed is super comfortable Thermostat worked well for the room Safety features Location was good for us Coffee excellent. Pull out couch a bit odd. Basically sleeping on a firm couch with divided cushions instead of traditional pullout mattress. Daughter said it was a bit firm but for one night okay. If she stayed longer with us would not have liked. Ants in bathroom first and second night but disappeared third night as they found nothing. Did not want obnoxious ant spray smell so we did not report. No maid service for three nights, needed TP eventually. They seemed to service at odd hours when one is in their rooms so we did not request when we saw them in the hallway. Bracing firehose of a shower. This can be downright painful and would caution if small children or elderly are staying there Breakfast included was the most disappointing of any hotel I've been to of that caliber. Waffle machines but no batter all the days we were there. Omelet eggs one day were okay. Scrambled eggs the other days were pretty poor. I will eat watery scrambled eggs and like them even. These were not watery but plastic-y textured and entirely tasteless. Only my memory of past decent scrambled eggs allowed me to finish what I had taken the first time. I passed the other times. Oatmeal third day looked like leftovers complete with crust. Rather limited breakfast but okay if you just want cereal, yogurt, or Danish with a whole fruit. Coffee was excellent but ran out of caffeinated once. Did not stick around long enough to see if they would refill. Parking is $30/night. Figure that into your budget if it applies. Even with all the negatives we still thought it was a decent stay until the last day when still no maid and we noticed a layer of dust on the desk chair complete with handprint where we had grabbed the chair to move it earlier in our trip. After that, our thought was, "It's okay if we don't stay here again." lol We would rate this place along the lines of 7 - 8, depending on your needs and priorities.

Nice variety to choose from in food, drinks and seating.

It was great and safe as well as clean.

Amazing staff, any questions I had was helped immediately. Even over the phone, answered quick, very professional as well. Would stay here again for any events I have in the city.

Booked this because it was closest to SAP Center. Nice hotel but not in the best part of town. Not much around it, if you’re looking for options to walk around and do things, stay more downtown. It had a nice kitchen and is a good hotel but not the best overall experience we were looking for.

Very clean, modern

We gave 4 stars. Overall was very nice but there were limited parking spaces in the structure and it made it very difficult to find a parking when we came back late.

Great location, parking was not the greatest bc it’s a garage parking and in the evening you have a hard time finding a spot. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Only issue I had was I wanted to tip housekeeping, they have a digital option and I had no cash. The QR code to scan, pointed to a link that did not function. I tried also at the front desk but there was no available option to leave a tip for the hardworking housekeepers.

I usually don’t leave reviews but this place was very clean and I loved that it’s very safe and had to use your room key for the elevators and going inside the parking lot! My family felt very safe! My wife loved the kitchen and everything in the room was great! Loved the stay would definitely stay here again! If I would go say maybe just the parking and paying for parking but what hotel doesn’t charge for parking? Ha

The hotel was not as advertised online. The room was much smaller than it looked in the photos. Although it had a kitchen, there wasn’t even a table or a proper place to sit and eat, which made the kitchen almost useless. Overall, the room was disappointing and didn’t match my expectations based on the online listing.
