The room was nice. Mostly clean but there were some questionable messes on the shower curtain and bathroom door that got over looked. The windows had shutters instead of curtains and some of them were broken. There was also a lot of noise with people coming in late and just noise from street. Location and price were good.

Everything was good. The check-in and check-out experience was smooth.

Didn't like that there wasn't an actual human behind the counter... wasn't a fan of the bed frame either kicking loud metal at night kept waking my partner.

At first it was hard to get a room for downstairs because my husband and I both use canes and then getting the bed changed I rebooted the TV to make it work and flag down housekeeping and she came and changed the bedding and then the garbage and gave us a new coffee pot cuz the other one didn't work Had to wait for about a half an hour to get a downstairs hotel room when I had earlier text left a message that we needed a downstairs hotel room because we both use canes Ada and the coffee pot didn't work and we had to flag down housekeeping to get a bed change and the TV decided to quit working I rebooted it and got it to work housekeeping did a really good job after that she changed the bedding and made sure we had clean towels and the TV kept working and gave us some nice coffee pot that worked for the price it was good location is a little hard to see the sign when you're never been in that town before

Location was great. Appreciated the amenities. Room was good enough. Staff onsite did not greet us when we walked in. We didn’t know she worked there until she helped the people that came in after us. I was also not sure about the check out process. Couldn’t find any information on how/where to check out. The room was nice but very dusty. Toilet looked like it had been used before we got there.

The check in was easy, communication was clear, they reached out to us to confirm marking the room as a Do Not Disturb, staff were very polite. No complaints!

Well.... there is no staff. Its silicon valley, so you have virtual people who are outsourced to check you in and check you out. It was a different experience. Ice machine was not working, otherwise it had all that i needed for 2 nights. The price is also very good for San Mateo. Looks like it used to be a downtown area.... a couple of salons, vintage clock store, restaurants, then alot of them closed up. The robots are taking over, Uber drivers don't speak English, and unlike a cab driver, they don't know anything... anything about the area, history, just going along.

The rooms, especially bathroom could be better cleaned. Especially corners of floors. Bathroom sink pressure was very low but shower ok.

They have a “virtual check in desk”, which I don’t like. I prefer to talk to a person, not a camera. When I went back in to ask how the key pad worked because just tapping it didn’t do anything, they just gave me a new code and didn’t answer my question (I eventually figured out that you have to use some force on the screen to get it to do anything). When I tried to close the blinds when I eventually did get into the room one of them wouldn’t close properly, even after I figured out what was wrong with it and fixed it. I had to resort to “taping” it closed with a large band-aid. And the refrigerator was extremely noisy, if I didn’t have ear plugs with me I wouldn’t have been able to sleep. Also, the soda I got out of the vending machine was only a few steps away from warm and the ice machine didn’t work. The place looks really nice and was very clean but if I’m ever going to stay in San Mateo again I’ll go somewhere else.

Will definitely stay again for business travel.

We did not stay at the property. We waited 35 plus minutes to attempt to speak with an employee and were not able to because the kiosk that allows you to speak with an employee was being used by another guest who couldn’t check in. The property seemed very unsafe. There were people clearly on drugs in the parking lot. You could see from outside of the rooms that they were incredibly dirty. The lobby reeked of cigarette smoke.

Clean, easy check in, quiet stay, good daily servicr Nothing; everything as expected, great location, good value. We brought our own blackout sheet based on other reviews and it was perfect.

I had to talk to a person on a screen that I could hardly understand. Weird experience.

I stayed there for 2 nights with my dad and younger brother. Spacious parking lot, friendly and helpful stuff, and the renovated room was very clean & modern feel. The ice machine and vending machine downstairs didn’t work though, but those are minor details. The first night was great. We were able to sleep through the entire night peacefully. But, the second night was terrible. There was some people that checked into the room right next to ours much later in the night - around 12am, I believe. At first they were a bit rowdy and noisy, but not enough that I’d complain. At about 2am in the morning the couple next door started arguing. For about 30 minutes my family and I tried brushing it off but the argument gradually escalated. We couldn’t make out exactly what they said but it definitely sounded like the man was trying to get the woman to calm down. She kept yelling over him and we could hear them continuously slam the bathroom door. I decided to open my room door and yelled at them to quiet down, which they did for like 15 minutes until the argument started back up. They kept screaming at each other. The woman kept yelling over the man. Their bathroom door kept slamming and stopped and slam and stopped. At the point I had to call 911 to get some police officers to come de-escalate the situation. They responded in a timely manner - within 10-15 mins. The officers had to take in the woman and she came back shortly before we had to check out. Didn’t see them.

Overall clean and well kept. The bathroom needs updating as there was a little mold near the shower, the faucet had a broken piece. I did not like that the guest laundry is locked and only open during certain hours and not always open on time. I did not appreciate the manager saying I needed to check out at 11am or pay for a late checkout after I got a message confirming I could check out at 12pm. They knocked like they were the police and said they would call the police despite me showing the message saying I could check out late.

I requested clean towels and never got them. I had to use the same towel for 1 week.
