Good morning RH Santander - Hostel

The bed

Staff were extremely hard to reach, and unhelpful in the check in process.

We only stayed a few ours as we had an early plane to catch. We did not expect much from the property so we received what we expected. It was clean and basic so somewhat ok (but very humid unfortunately). The room was rather humid and we could also smell the humidity, which is not pleasant. The room is underground and the "half window" is directly situated on the street where pedestrians walk = disturbing and noisy. For this reason you cannot live the window open as you can see the feet of the people walking in the street.

Location is amazing - the beach and seaside is very close. But if you are planning to spend most of your time indoors (I needed to work from home/hostel) - this was a very bad choice. As mentioned before - it is almost a basement with no fresh air and no windows (except one room). The heating does not come on every day, so towels and other things you might wash do not get dry. The staff does not respond to WhatsApp frequently, and they always respond in Spanish, even if you try talking in English. The description says "each room has a kitchen" - this is false. The kitchen is shared, as are the showers and toilets. The room is very dark, and one electrical socket was burnt (I haven't tried using it). Would rather pay more to get a better experience.

The location is the most positive thingabout the hostel. Easy to find, free street parking nearby, not too far from the beach. Generally clean. The rooms are dark, damp and dingy. There was no warm water for a shower in the morning.

Pleasant

They allowed me to use the kitchen to recharge my mobile phone before my check-in time. The place was very clean always!! The mattress is a little bit uncomfortable, but for a short period, it's OK!

The bed was atrocious, lumpy mattress! Really uncomfortable to sleep in. Photos are not really describing what the place looks like.

The location was pretty nice and the owner replies quickly When we arrived, we had cockroaches on the floor, as well as a very moist and stinky room. Moreover, the kitchen tools were dirty and the microwave very rusty and practically impossible to use. Was only okay for a one-night stay during a road trip

Terrible place. Should not be allowed on Booking.com. Filthy, nearly impoosibld to find or get in. Disgraceful

I have stayed here for several weeks for personal reasons and I've been thoroughly impressed. It was quiet, well located, comfortable, always clean, and the staff were proactive and super-helpful in responding quickly to everything I needed. It's a very small hostel, staff are not on site every day, but they respond quickly and helpfully to calls or WhatsApp messages. For the price especially, I have been extremely impressed and I will miss it when I leave later this week because it has even come to feel like home. I saw other reviews (the first time I looked at it and booked) which mentioned problems with humidity but I personally didn't experience any such problems, and I really hate humidity so I would have picked up on this.

Anything Check in terrible. Mould smell. Bed is an uncomfortable and very cold room. Nobody in the check-in and not light in the entrance. I had to use my phone light to follow the instructions for check-in. Very noisy people in the next room
