Hotel Santa Lucia

Breakfast and location rooms are not as in the pictures, asked for an upgrade and got a room where the bathroom lavatory was at the height of my legs almost knees

Great value. Comfortable room. Very central to the old city of Santiago. The desk was on the 4th floor. My room was on the 3rd floor. I couldn't access ground floor unless I went up to the 4th floor. This was particularly inconvenient when I needed to leave with my luggage.

It can get sketchy after dark, pickpockets everywhere on the street

Good location The building looks old. Dust and rust everywhere.

Location is very close to the center of the city Staff doesn't speak English, we used Google translate. Parking is far away from hotel, about 7-8 min walk, it is not convenient to walk with luggage. There is a lot of rust in bathroom. Elevator only goes up to reception floor, to get the rooms it is needed to take the stairs which is not convenient with luggage. Breakfast was varied but not tasty

Reception staff are very helpful and polite. The room were very well cleaned. There’s no curtains black out in the rooms.

The location Road traffic noise

- The location is good. It is on the main street in the city center on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor of the building. - The breakfast had a good spread and it starts at 7:30 AM. - Many shop, restaurants and cafes nearby. - They didn't have the option for early check in. Even an hour before the time. - The hotel is actually going through renovation so there is no lift for 3rd or 5th floor and you need to take the stairs at the back of the building as the main stairs are closed for renovation. - The room didn't match the pictures and it is actually quite worn out and the carpet looks like it has not been vacuumed or cleaned in a long time. - The room does not have an AC but they give a small fan. - The bath tub is the most disgusting. I even complained about it but they knew the fault and said they can't do anything about it. When you take shower the water drains so slowly that the water climbs above ankles the whole time and it takes a long time before it drains after the shower. A lot of long hair started floating when I took the shower and it was disgusting.

Great location Clarity of communication

Breakfast was excellent. A lot more than I expected, eggs, yogurt, hot fresh rolls, cheese and meats. Coffee, teas and several types of fresh juice. A well worn facility with worn towels and bedding but was clean and quite well worth the low price. Staff stored our luggage since we had late flight so we could see sites and then got us a taxi to airport.

I liked that it was very close to major points is interest, and had easy access to the Metro. I did enjoy morning breakfast in the morning. That was a plus, since it opened early, and it was good. What I didn’t like was that no car or taxi could drop me off or pick me up at the door because hotel has no street access. Luggage has to be carried across the cobblestone way to and from the hotel entrance. It’s awfully hard when you’re not used to it.

Location Made reservation for two similar rooms with a/c. Even called several weeks before arrival because we were informed about some remodeling work. Hotel denied. When we arrived we were given one room without a/c and reception just said that I “should have looked at the small letters”. Very unpleasant, rude and without any empathy. Consider this was my second stay at this hotel. Never more.
