Cocoon Hotel

We specifically booked and paid extra for a sea-view room. However, upon arrival, we were given a completely different room located on the side of the building with no sea view at all. The staff claimed that this room would be “better and more convenient” for us because we were traveling with a child. This was not our choice, and no one asked for our opinion beforehand. When we understandably expressed our dissatisfaction, we were told that the room we had booked had been extended by the previous guests and that the hotel could not ask them to leave for our one-night stay. The obvious question is: did anyone inform us about this before our arrival? No. We received no notification whatsoever. The manager even claimed that he could not contact us directly and could only communicate through Booking.com, which is simply not true. Instead of offering a proper solution, he told us: “I will refund your money, go to another hotel.” We had traveled a long distance and arrived with a small child. This was an unacceptable response. We then spent nearly two additional hours trying to resolve the situation. Had the hotel informed us in advance, we could have changed our travel dates or booked another hotel before arriving. Instead, we had to find accommodation at the last minute in a completely different part of Halkidiki, spending additional time, fuel, money, and energy. What makes this situation even worse is that we never said we wanted to leave. The manager canceled our reservation himself. We felt as though we were being forced out of the property rather than being treated as paying guests.

Clean and nicely decorated room but ashamingly small (max 10 m2 including the toilet) 1. Indecently small room size (max. 10 m 2 including the toilet), 2. Because the room is on the ground flooor and the glass door (which is also the only window of the room) is in front of the bed, if you want some privacy the curtains must stay closed and there is no sunlight. If you want sunlight you open the curtains and the whole room is visible from outside. 3. There is no kitchenette: there are a useful little fridge and an a espresso coffee machine but no kitchen équipement or tools. 4. The terrasse in front on the room could have been nice but there is almost no space between it, the pathway and the miriade of little terraces around

The location is great; right on the water, with its own beach bar, in the beautiful town of Sarti, and within a few minutes drive to some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. The staff is friendly and they are running a family business. They did their best to be helpful and accommodate any requests or issues. The wi-fi is fast and efficient, which is quite impressive for Halkidiki. According to one of the people at the property, this is because they are using Starlink. The rooms are adequate but quite basic. There was a constant smell of sewage in our room, and according to people I spoke to, in other rooms as well, coming from either the bathroom or the kitchen. The beach bar has unreasonably high prices for the sunbeds considering the location, and the prices for drinks and food were also pretty high. When ordering food at the beach bar, they call in the order to an associated restaurant, and they bring in the food by motorbike. They are upfront about this, but the prices, the bad experience, and the low quality of the food make this a big no-no.

It was a pleasant stay. The indoor unit of the air conditioner is very dirty and needs to be cleaned and sanitized. It looks like it hasn't been done in a long time. Other than that everything else was OK.

Good and quiet location. The accomodation was just a few steps from very nice beach. City centre and restaurants were in walking distance, few minutes.

Being comfortable in a perfectly clean and comfortable room is all you can ask for, but cocoon hotel went above and beyond. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. And being right on Sarti beach with a stunning view off the balcony really made our trip. All this for the last weekend of the summer!

The location was excellent, directly in front of the beach, it was relatively quiet. The room fell far short of expectations. There was no proper door—entry was through sliding windows with a makeshift lock, which offered little security. Additionally, there was no privacy on the balcony, as it served as a walkway for other guests to access their rooms. The decoration and facilities were strait out of the 90ies and the it was borderline clean. The price of €180, likely due to the August season, was exorbitant for the quality provided, making it poor value for money

The furnitures were ok The air conditioner was dirty by the time we arrived, it was said to be 22 sqm but was even less than that! It was also said to have some more equipment but was never seen, complete madness. It was also said, that there was a partial view to the sea, but this was also a lie.

The location of the hotel was great, right across from the beach and most of the time it was possible to find parking fairly quickly. The room was updated and clean. Bed was smaller than other places we stayed bur comfortable. Our room faced the ocean and had a large balcony area that was great to sit on and we spent a lot of time sitting out there. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. From reading the other reviews we knew the room would be small. It was fine for us with that preparation in mind but the room doesn't have a lot of space. While there was daily service for the room to empty garbage, replace complimentary coffee pods and sweeping, our towels were only replaced once on the second day, no bed making. This was fine as we did the bed making ourselves but something to keep in mind. As others have said no toiletries in the bathroom but bathroom was a good size. We didn't visit the beach bar as others in the area, while not as nice, required smaller minimum consumption.
