Loved the private casita - so quiet and comfortable. The main pool area and the grounds are just gorgeous. The spa was huge and had fantastic services both times I went. Housekeeping is incredible given how much space they have to cover. You can tell this property used to be a five star resort before it was sold to Hilton. While the property itself is incredible - the staff are not paid enough (I’m guessing) and most (except the bell guys at the front) do not have an amazing level of service. The spa pool was not clean and the eatery was closed. I wouldn’t say the high price is worth what you get

Great resort and the standalone Boulder Casita was comfortable with great privacy off the back patio. We traveled during the summer off season which meant we had to rely on the golf cart shuttle service because walking the large property would have been a challenge in the heat. Perhaps it was due to be off season but there definitely several repair projects that desperately needed to be completed. Lots of pathway lights out making walking around at night challenging. Ice machine near our room not working. Vast majority of staff were amazing and willing to go the extra mile. One pool server had a very negative attitude and had some condescending words during our first interaction. It’s a fairly long drive from downtown Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain area, and other nice areas of Phoenix so wouldn’t recommend if you plan to frequent those areas.

We really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars because it really was a nice location. Unfortunately, there were a few items that needed attention. Our shower dispenser was completely empty, so we were left have to use the bar of soap by the sinks. The ceiling to floor mirror was filthy. My wife almost started cleaning it and I told her that it was not our responsibility to clean for the hotel. Lastly, the property is poorly lit at night. We returned back to our room around 9pm and parked in the spa parking lot, which was a 5-minute walk to our room. Although the pathway had lights along it none of them worked. It was completely dark, so we had to use the flashlights on our phones. We felt that this was somewhat negligent for a 5-star rated property. Other than that, we did have a nice stay,

Gorgeous views The linens need to be updated. For this price point the towels and sheets should be amazing.

Positively, I think the staff was generally friendly and helpful. Housekeeping cleaned our room impressively quickly while we were out for breakfast. The grounds are attractive, although driving a mile to get off-property is sort of a nuisance. Our room looked quite nice and made a positive impression as soon as we walked in. Negatively, some of the amenities and features of the rooms are weirdly bad. The wifi in our room was terrible, frequently cutting out. The fact that the doors of the bathroom had fairly significant gaps at the bottom was annoying; if you're sharing your room, you'll be more aware of your companions' digestion than you'd like. We didn't have a microwave, and the nearby ice machine was seemingly broken. Breakfast options are limited if you don't want to go off-site. Beyond that, while I wouldn't say the place is unfriendly to kids, the resort doesn't present a lot to occupy them. But again, I don't think Boulders is targeting families, so that's fair enough. I wouldn't try to get my money back or anything, but Phoenix has a lot of resorts. I'd try others before coming here again.
